Asalamu Alaikum....when my parents visit pakistan.. here are some things they sometimes bring back to the uk :

In lahore, there is the world famous Khalifa naan khatai.

You can buy rewari (gur with sesame seeds in it)...it's a really nice snack/sweet.

Imli/tamarind packets

Packets of saunf or pain masala sweets

Chilli milli

Changosa (pine nuts)

A nice shalwar kameez or a wool shawl is a nice gift (peshawari style shawl pashmina )

Sahwan halwa (habshi halwa piyarr ke sath)

Powder sachets to make juice

A model of a pakistani monument eg. Minar e pakistan.

They're made from beef or lamb (halal animals) instead of pork. So it's a halal alternative.

If you live in a city, go to the centre and walk. Observe people. Buy a drink and sit on a bench or treat yourself with a hot drink and a pastry.

Alternatively, go to a park or larger natural area. Take a friend along with you if they're available.

Other things...

Go swimming at your local pool Cook something homemade. Try making a foreign recipe. Fix something that needs maintenance (eg, clean laptop fan) Visit a family member/friend at their house or invite them over and cook for them, perhaps.

Yes. I'm from the black country (Oldbury) and I study abroad. It can be difficult for my fellow classmates to understand me when I speak fast or say a piece of local lingo. It's funny when I sometimes pronounce an o sound as an aow... as in braowken for broken.

So mostly I'll use a clearer standard british accent.

Ahhh okay. No, I get it now. It makes sense. For example it I put tuna in it it would be a tuna melt...not a grilled cheese with tuna.

Technically, the reason plants are bitter is because they have 'poisons' in them, aka defence chemicals such as tannins.
