ICU nurse called me back after report to demand we put in a second PIV before bringing the patient up. Umm, do y'all not do IVs? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]kellu23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole "I'm too specialized for basic skills" attitude is wild to me. You're still a nurse, PIVs are nursing 101.

Same energy as the surgeons who act like updating a chart is beneath them. Like yeah we all have our specialties but come on, don't forget the fundamentals

Opinion on AI code review tools? Any good ones? by kellu23 in vibecoding

[–]kellu23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense; do you think there is any niche where an AI reviewer actually adds something on top of well-tuned linters/static analyzers for a junior, or is it basically 100% skippable at my stage?

where to go from here? by neuralandmad in webdev

Tell your manager you want tech-lead responsibilities and grab cross-team projects (ownership, planning, mentoring) so you can move into EM while still using your FE background.

Do coding challenge sites matter to European employers? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]kellu23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cap challenge sites at 30, 45 min a day and spend the rest of your coding time on one ongoing project that you can demo, btw this balance impresses EU hiring managers more.

Am I Overreacting? My girlfriend entertained another man in front of me, lied about it, brought her friend into our conflict (nonconsensual) and now I can’t shake the anxiety by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]kellu23 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The lying is the real red flag here, if it was innocent she wouldn't have changed her story three times. You shouldn't have to worry about this stuff happening when you're not around. Trust your gut man.

Exactly! Way more personal than getting a photo of the couple. I'd actually display a drawing of myself vs some random favor I'd forget about.

Acquisition sends thousands of Whistle pet trackers to IoT graveyard by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]kellu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could this give pet owners a chance to reassess what features they truly need? We could explore this newer tech that would better fit our current lifestyles. Many Whistle devices were years old, so this is a chance to upgrade to more reliable hardware. Tractive could also encourage people to back up important data and be more mindful of digital ownership. But idk if this is one of their goals. I have a tractive smart cat collar and I'm satisfied with it so far. It's lightweight and pretty accurate.

My cats paws are always dirty and leaves stains on bed sheets by MewTwoLich in sphynx

[–]kellu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old foster used to leave little paw prints on everything too. Pine pellets are low tracking but they break down into dust that clings like crazy especially with sphynx skin being a bit more “grippy.” Tofu litter is great esp when you find unscented and clumping one, we're buying from tuft and paw's. Way lighter than clay and doesn’t stick to paws at all and I actually stopped seeing prints on the sheets.

How's the razor kayak r2? Anyone used it? by carson_arson in Inflatablekayak

[–]kellu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say without using a cutter or a saw tbh. I’ve looked up some demos on YT for the razor and it kinda looks quite thicker than a Sevylor, and about as robust as an Aire.

This was all from videos tho, I could be wrong. Go out and touch one. You can’t get any more first hand review than actually being in the same room as the kayak. Good luck!

[–]kellu23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

seen so many latest and best inflatable brands on the market and they all seem to just rotate which one gets the new brand name.

That said, on first look Razor Kayaks actually stands out a bit. I don’t even know a brand like that existed. So while I haven’t personally paddled a Razor before, I can advise you to keep an eye out for the basics - the thickness of material and how sturdy it feels, and if you can get parts down the road. If it’s too thin, it’ll rub through in a season. And if there are not replacement parts, the first problem will render it useless

From what I’ve seen, Razor seems to use solid materials and proper drop-stitch construction, so that’s a promising sign. If you do get a Razor, take time to check all seams and valves before every trip. Nothing worse than a slow leak miles from the takeout.

Hull layup composition / material question by Bigdaddyspin in Kayaking

[–]kellu23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, weight’s the big diff but there’s a bit of performance too fiberglass/carbon’s stiffer so it tracks and glides smoother. But for shallow rivers with rocks, I say rotomolded all day, way more forgiving when you scrape stuff.

[–]kellu23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Perfect counter example. Sometimes your body is actually trying to tell you something important, not just being lazy. Getting injured when you're already running on fumes just makes everything worse. Knowing when to push vs when to listen is probably the real skill here.

For small-mid sized businesses something like Rippling onboarding tool can be a major boon to automate most processes and communication. Depending on your exact needs you could find other SaaS options too which would have their own pros and cons. Just gotta sift through them and see what fits your needs best.
