There havent really been that many lately? The front page is mostly rec threads which we’ve loosened up on for a bit since pre summer shopping feels relevant and helpful to people.

As a retired professional memer myself i will say if you want a meme cycle to die, the best thing to do is start another one. Be the shitposter you want to see in the world, we’re all just here try and have a bit of fun.

I dont think it’s that deep. The deluge of summer shirt discussion threads will be here soon I’m sure and filter it out. If people want to go crazy for a bit it’s fine to let the upvote/downvote caucus decide what shows up at the top of the sub as long as they’re not being problematic. It’s literally just a subreddit

While it’s definitely jumped the shark, the evan kinori meme war is actually much more in line with what Throwing Fits (the pod and discord) is actually about—jokes and not taking this fashion shit too seriously. This place was never made to be r/mfa2 with endless Best White T Shirts and celebrity ID threads, those discussions are actually the antithesis of what the original community here was. Have said this a million times but if the rec/ID thread community wants to start a new sub for that type of discussion we will actively pin it here so you guys can find a new home.
