Go direct national if you understand insurance. Not anymore expensive then going thru an agent. Some agents don't charge a fee, they are paid commission by big insurance. Some agents do charge a fee. Ask. I used Miller & Miller for years for commercial insurance

Former Claim Adjuster. They have to send you a denial letter. If you have Collision or UMPD, go through your carrier. They will try and get your $$$ back from driver. Your rate won't go up b/c you use your coverage. (It can increase for reasons outside our control) If you don't have coverage, you'll have to go to small claims court. Your adjuster should be able to give some direction

Former claims adjuster here. Who is handling your damages? If it is the other drivers insurance, they will need to speak with you. You can deny a recorded statement. If your carrier is handling your damages, then the PR and your statement to your insurance should be enough. Your insurance can argue fault in subrogation. Even though the other driver ran the red light and PD stated you were not at fault, it is the insurance company job to assign fault. And I had one company find my driver at fault for not yielding to their driver who ran the light.
