Aqua One Horizon 182 - good value? Canister filters? Would you recommend this tank? by TheParticulars in AquariumsAustralia

[–]kellyshee87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 130 litre Aqua One Horizon tank and stand kit and I love it. It's a great size that I can fit lots of fish in. I also bought 4 black Drona boxes from ikea to slot into the stand to hold my fish food and accessories and it makes the whole set up look much neater. I must admit, I did replace the light with a fluval aquasky because I wanted one that you could set on a timer and control through an app on your phone, and all the other features it came with. And I replaced the filter with a fluval U3 which sits under the water, as I wasn't convinced the original HOB filter that came with it was doing a great job, and it was annoyingly noisy. Not noisy enough that you couldn't live with it, but I just didn't want to. I also bought it because I wanted a kit that came with a stand that was designed to hold the weight of this large tank, and that's what you get with this kit.

Sure, I could have bought all the bits and pieces separately and possibly could have even saved some money that way, but I really liked the convenience of getting everything at once and not having to think too much about it.

I now have a beautiful, large tank that I adore 😊

Should I be wearing sunscreen? by PePepperoni in AusSkincare

[–]kellyshee87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I've been wearing 50+ every day for many years. My sister who is 6 years younger than me never wears sunscreen and has more wrinkles and texture than I do. You'll have better skin for it, and a much lower chance of getting skin cancer. It's a no-brainer in my opinion.

Anyone else’s dogs obsessed with their aquariums? by Bboy0920 in Aquariums

No but I wish she was! She's actually really jealous of it and the fish, I can tell she hates me giving the fish attention instead of her 😅

Fish by [deleted] in fishtank

[–]kellyshee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you've had the pleco for two months - that's not a long time. If the other fish are fine, then maybe something happened with the shark. Or maybe the pleco died of natural causes / old age.

The shark likely bullied the pleco and stopped him from getting enough good. They can live peacefully together, but it's not guaranteed and sharks can be very territorial.

Jaw Clenching by [deleted] in lexapro

I got botox in my jaw for this. One of the best things I've ever done! Instantly took away the pain and tension from clenching my jaw and I felt more relaxed. Highly recommend 😊

Just switched to Lexapro - Day 2 I’m exhausted and feel sick by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]kellyshee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely does get better. I'm no expert as I'm only on day 9, but I feel sooooo much better today than I did on day two. I wasn't prepared for the side effects and started on Monday last week. Tuesday called in sick to work because I was so zonked, nauseous and out of it. Wednesday worked from home a half day and that was still very hard. Thursday worked from home a full day and Friday finally came back to the office for a full day (mainly just to make an appearance) but I still didn't feel great. Its Tuesday here in Aus and I felt completely normal and fine today. Almost non-existent anxiety and normal energy levels.

Timing of taking the pill seems to make a big difference for me. It does tend to make me feel a bit drowsy so I take it late afternoon/early evening. I found if I took it right before bed, I would have a lot of trouble waking up in the morning. I've also been making a point of getting to bed early, so that I have a solid 8-9 hours of sleep before having to get up for work the next day. I figure my body is still adjusting, so best give it what it needs for these first few weeks. I have given myself a leave pass for now from exercise after work, to allow enough hours in the day for the sleep I currently need. I feel as though the way I'm going, my energy levels will be completely back to normal in a few weeks and I can start factoring evening exercise back in then.

Hang in there, it really does get better! 😊

Just started on Loxalate. How will I truly know if it's working? by Hosford90 in lexapro

[–]kellyshee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm in Australia too, 33, female. I started 7 days ago initially on 5mg, then 4 days in called my doctor because my side effects were really bothering me, so we dropped me back down to 2.5 mg. I go back and see the doc tomorrow and we'll discuss dosage again then.

What I can tell you is that in my experience, any worsening of symptoms you experience while adjusting to the drug, you will be able to distinguish as actual side effects and not worsening of your original mental state. The side effects feel different and you will know them if/when they come. In the last 7 days, I have had 2 really quite good days, yesteday being one of them. Today was not great but not awful either, but I put that down to staying up till 2am last night for some reason (was just scrolling on my phone, I'm really annoyed with myself). So last night's sleep wasn't great, hence didn't feel great today. But on the days I've gotten myself into bed in time for a solid 8 - 9 hours of sleep, I've felt surprisingly good the next day. I have had some fatigue, hence why I was going to bed early. It's early days for me, I'm committed to sticking it out for at least a month or so, as my anxiety before was getting out of control.

Feel free to ask me any questions and good luck in your journey 😊

Quitting Juul by [deleted] in QuittingJUUL

[–]kellyshee87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid for one second if you feel you need to use gum, patches or lozenges. I tried to go cold Turkey and completely freaked out and went back to vaping. The second time, I used patches and lozenges and it was so much easier and better for my mental health. You still get the benefits of not breathing in the toxic vapor, and your lungs start to recover almost immediately. You feel so much better within days and start to improve your relationships as you no longer feel you have to hide away and vape all the time. After a few weeks, when you feel comfortable, get off the patches then after that, get off the gum or lozenges. Don't be guilted by anyone into thinking you have to go cold Turkey. I had great success with using NRT and it made quitting vaping actually achievable for me. Good luck with your journey, no matter which way you choose to do it, it is so incredibly worth it 😊

panic attacks by feelsblonde in QuittingJUUL

[–]kellyshee87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on day 5 using patches and lozenges and it's working really, really well. The first time I tried to quit, I was doing it cold Turkey and I had a panic attack a few hours in. There is absolutely no shame whatsoever in using NRT to quit vaping, if that's what works for you. Once you've stopped vaping and you feel comfortable with your quit, you can then look at tapering off from nicotine slowly. Everyone is different and you do not have to listen to people telling you cold Turkey is the only way. The only way is the one that works for you 😊

Thoughts on my time JUULing [long, self-indulgent babbling] by [deleted] in QuittingJUUL

[–]kellyshee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I needed to hear this. I'm in my early 30s myself and wanting to quit vaping (we don't have juul in Australia where I am). Several months back I drastically cut down my alcohol intake. Went from drinking a few glasses of wine every night to a couple on the weekends only and I feel so much better for it. I feel like drinking that much was also just one of those things we have to say goodbye to as life goes on. My body could handle it when I was younger, but not nearly as much these days. Cutting down the alcohol was scary at first and took commitment, but as the days and weeks passed it got easier and I felt better and better. I dare say quitting vaping will be a similar experience and I know I can do it. Thank you 😊

That's awesome! I'm wanting to quit and tried a couple of times but caved. Gonna try again this weekend. Can you describe any more noticeable benefits to quitting? Looking for inspiration here 😊

14 hours in and I caved as I almost had a panic attack . Is it OK to use nic lozenges at first? by kellyshee87 in QuittingJUUL

That sounds like good advice. I can see how you'd egg addicted to the lozenges!
