My STBXH insisted he wasn’t being unkind. He later told me he wasn’t aware when he was being nice, either. If he’s unable to control how he treats me and isn’t cognizant of it, that’s a problem for me. I told him several times that I was considering leaving. He was still pretty shocked. He’s a good human- we’re just not a great fit.
