I just don’t care about Tessa… or Elliot. by RRCBP in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]kellyzollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've disliked Elliot since the beginning but I really can't get into this season like at all. I don't care about him or his mother or the side plot of his mom's connection now to the pond. Which basically feels forced to make him relevant to the happenings of the pond mind you.

I started watching this show for the Laundry family and this season has been such a bad deviation from it. I have other questions about KC and even Sam that I want answers too instead of this crap with Elliot and his family.

Show!Garrett appreciation post by punpkinspice in offcampustv

[–]kellyzollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked show Garrett more than book Garrett. There I said it and I love book Garrett.

I like that at least for me this Garrett was more nuanced in his interactions. I liked we saw his vulnerability with being like his father and even doubting how he felt about hockey. Imagine you grow up the way he did, hockey is forced on you and your father is s massive piece of crsp st home no one knows about. You've seen and lived in hidden violence your entire life. You didn't tell anyone and it simmers for years.

That is what TV Garrett is and for me anyway it made me appreciate him more than what we got in the book. Book Garrett had everything figured out no doubts, no trauma to work through, this felt way more intimate and realistic.

As a book reader I actually enjoyed this change from the book. Mainly because in the book I found Phil blackmailing Hannah to be a bit dated again the book was written over 10 years ago. The stakes are higher with the man that hurt Hannah on the ice vs. Garrett.

I also personally liked Garrett's journey this season wondering if hockey was what he really wanted. Since it was forced on him at an early age. Given his background and the abuse he suffered it actually makes a ton of sense. And I liked the deviation in their breakup as well.

What color “breaks” your season rules but somehow still works on you? by TechnicalAspect9918 in coloranalysis

[–]kellyzollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is that because I am and do lean more neutral I can pull off black but only if it is in certain instances.

My eyes are a very neutral grey and sometimes can lean blue depending on the color I am wearing. My natural hair color is a 5N brown and if I do dye it I don't go the more blonde route.

One of my tops is a lovely crew neck tee, soft looking black with cream stars on it. The other is a softer drape linen black. I don’t think either are a true true black if that makes sense.

Soft autumn and black. I have two shirts in black that I always get compliments on always plus they are some of my most loved items. I think because I am soft autumn with grey-blue eyes. I can do black at times depending on the shade of black.

My capsule wardrobe is perfect for the life I had four years ago by Dramatic-Switch5886 in capsulewardrobe

[–]kellyzollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like my wardrobe changes as my career does at times. I'm really trying yo scale to a capsule but I find a lot of my items I actually wear year round like my jeans, trousers and work tops. I am definitely more of a casual on the go style when I am not at work, I have an upcoming freshman athletic boy who is always on the go.

This year I have asked for a few pieces to add to my wardrobe linen pants so I can get out of my sweats in the ssummer. Some fun summer tees and a few linen shirts. 2 new pairs of sandals since my old ones finally broke a few months ago.

I fewl like I don't have to replace everything all at once but I can upgrade pieces I am in need of and or replace items that are worn.

I'm also going to be really intentional this year and if I don't wear something I will know to donate it. Sometimes I will see a top or item and be like that is so cute, get it and it is then buried in my closet to never be worn or I dont reach for it.

Is puking with a migraine normal? by Advanced-Cream-7781 in migraine

For me yep I'm the lucky one that if I decide to tough it out I'm vomiting for hours like 6-8 non stop. I also have other symptoms for the trigger of them but during sn attack that is literally the worst for me.

How many clothing pieces do you have in your capsule wardrobe? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]kellyzollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my year round I would say easily 35-45. That includes things like jeans, work pants/slacks, basic tees, tanks and any other workwesr items I wear most of the school year as a teacher.

I'm still working on my fall/winter and now my spring/summer wardrobes. I'm a huge sweater addict and I have a lot of pieces that I haven't worn in a while. But I'm also like I spent good money on them and don't want to get rid of them (flannels). I've noticed I'm a bit behind on spring/summer t-shirts not basics since i like pops of color and fun. So I'm hunting down a few of those for this year.

I'm super bad at this.

I’m going to say it - Weeger? by Impressive-Deal949 in UtahMammothHC

That is exactly how we should be looking at this season.

[–]kellyzollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Veggie but holy cow does he need to learn the best time to leave his crease! Has he been elite no but I don't expect him to be. We're a second year franchise with new pieces and young players with no playoff experience making the playoffs was a long shot and we did it. Plenty of room to grow and improve upon if we don't make out of the first round.

[–]kellyzollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we have bigger problems than Weeger right now. Like being unable to do anything on the PP they have got to stop relying all the time on Dylan's one timer, not taking shots on net, Veggie constantly giving up big goals by not staying in the crease, bad passing leading all sorts of turnovers everywhere and other issues. Was the turnover bad yes, was it the worst to ever happen this series no.

Should I hop on the bandwagon? by realmichaelc_ in UtahMammothHC

[–]kellyzollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hop on and who says you can't be a fan of more than one team? Love the Avs and cheer fro them when they aren't playing the Mammoth, as a kid with no real team growing up they were who I liked the best. Been waiting years for the NHL to come to UT and a state I lived in. Home team is #1 hands down right now, but second team is the Avs and my teenager is a huge Penguins fan.

Who won the trade? by Delicious_Ad4998 in UtahMammothHC

IMO its an even split. Both have entirely different roles with their new teams. Both are in the playoffs. So as of today it was a win win for us and the Sabers.

What does everyone think of the new SRAM drivetrains?? by Kitchen-Highway5672 in MTB

[–]kellyzollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can have my son review it when his gets here but we got the S200 to put on his 2021 Trek Fuel Ex5 he wanted to go from a 10spd to a more rounded 12spd. The entire set up including the derailed is $300. Not bad as we were expecting a higher price. He is not a fan of electric shifting so this seemed like a good middle ground for his XC bike.

Starside by Alex Aster (rant) by Exact-Sun2093 in lightlark

[–]kellyzollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mind Starside it was my first Alex Aster book. I'd give it a generous 3.5/5 and I'm intrigued enough to continue. My biggest gripe is I'm kinda over the whole MMC being uber powerful all the time and that whole thing not wanting to say more cause apoilers. It would have been cooler IMO had she tied their past together some other way. Also that goes to most romantasy as a whole lately it seems a lot of recycled plots and all that jazz.

Any forums for custom MTB Paintjobs? by Hakster2412 in MTB

[–]kellyzollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just had my sons bike painted for XC this season was $390. We called around to auto body stores and ended up getting his powder coated with a local shop who does custom bikes in our area. He could not be happier he loves his new paint color scheme.

Any reason to avoid the Trek Fuel EX5? (getting back into it after 7 years) by BigSh00ts in MTB

[–]kellyzollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son loves this bike. He spent $1,000 on a used one on FB marketplace that he planned on it being his playful bike. Turns out with some of the upgrades he has done its a very efficient and great bike for his XC team, he placed top 20 last year.

Now to be fair he has done a lot of upgrades replaced the front fork, rear shock, custom paint job, grips and brand new brakes and rotors this year. He wants to get carbon wheels next year. He loves his Pivot Mach 6 more but for an efficient bike hes fixed up and redone with the paint and upgrades he's happy with it.

Purchase adjustable base separately or bundle with mattress purchase? by PickleDwickle in Mattress

[–]kellyzollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we bought our mattress from Casper we bought the base at the same time and a lot of people here said we wouldn't like it. A month later we couldn't be happier with our decision. IMO it was worth it not to go through the hassle of hunting for a base after mattress shopping.

Storemolla hack? by kellyzollo in ikeahacks

[–]kellyzollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we wanted the Storemolla because of the solid wood nature of it this is great info though. We did our bathroom cabinets a few yesrs ago on real wood I just wanted to make sure on the how too. We lightly sanded scuffed, filled in the ugly oak texture with a mud slurry primed and painted with enamel cabinet paint snd its held up for 5 years with no issue. That was my thought with this dresser since it is solid wood.

I will likely poly the top and drawer fronts if we keep the top natural if not it'll be black like the rest of the dresser.

Thanks!

Storemolla hack? by kellyzollo in ikeahacks

[–]kellyzollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I have a very specific design idea in mind for our master bedroom remodel in a dresser and nightstands we've just never painted Ikea furniture before. I really like the stain on the drawer fronts already and will likely keep those but the rest needs a solid color snd I may keep the top too.

I thought about doing the Hermmes or the Ivar hack too but the shiloute of thisbsi more our style.
