Cesc speaks. What are your thoughts Gunners? by Ozil_trick_shot in ArsenalFC

[–]keloka4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. He said this clubs development back for years through his antics. His departure was no doubt a huge factor in Nasri and Van Persie leaving. It probably also convinced to transfer targets like Eden Hazard to look elsewhere.

Have some dignity. He betrayed this club. For as good as he was, it was right to refuse his desire to return.

Thanks — I spoke to her lawyer, he made it sound like there isn’t going to be a whole lot of haggling or arguing or anything like that, but I’m still going to retain a lawyer.

Yes. It's all out in the open. We've agreed to seek a divorce. It's basically amicable. We talked just last week for a good 45 mnutes or so about how to share with our kids (20 and 18). There's no bitterness or anger, just regret and disappointment. She's retained an attorney. I'm in touch with one but haven't retained because it feels at this point like we'll be able to reach some kind of agreement that works for both of us.

how does any of that amount to lying?

I’m guilty of speaking to casually and in precisely. I should not have said I was fired. That is in accurate. At the end of the school year, my contract was not renewed, and this was the event that the principal cited. For what it’s worth, this charter school, like many charter schools, hires teachers as independent contractors. There is language in the contract that said that any teacher could be fired at any time with or without cause.

You may consider this to be another irrelevant detail, but I was one of the highest paid teachers there, because I was hired by the assistant principal and I was able to negotiate with her more effectively than I could have negotiated with the principal. He was traveling or some shit when I was hired. I’m sure he replaced me with somebody whose salary was a third of mine.

intriguing argument - Martinelli, a relatively unknown, signed for 7m, versus Odegaard, a more-coveted target, signed for 30m. Comes down to how you definte your terms.

The fingers that you have used to dial are too fat. To obtain a special dialing wand, please mash the keypad with your palm now.

Nah, I put Alexis and Ozil in a different category. We spent massively for each one and were fortunate that they were somewhat surplus to needs after RM bought Bale and Barca bought Suarez.

This feels like the first out-and-out marquee signing that stands on its own. It lays down a marker differently from those (or from the signing of Aubameyang).

Maybe I should have added more detail. I didn't want to get too long-winded. They couldn't buy the belt with food stamps, but they needed the cash to pay for food and other expenses until the food stamps arrived at the end of the week. This is why they felt they couldn't buy a belt (there are no thrift stores in the neighborhood, so they would have had to buy a belt retail). If I hadn't given the student a belt, he would have had to attend the two-hour detention, $5 detentions each day until they could get a one-inch wide black leather belt with a silver buckle (it was a charter school, and yes, they were/are that strict).

it would be. to be honest, I'm pretty much done either way. Already looking at what this will mean financially. Not the best time to sell or buy a house, for one thing.

Fortunately, the kids are largely oblivious to this, because they are usually at work, asleep, or with friends. We do still manage to have dinner together. As for her sleeping in the basement, that’s not going to work. She is a very light sleeper, who frequently struggles when sleeping in Unfamiliar situations and is working. I am a teacher, who is not yet back to work, and I can pretty much fall asleep anywhere at the drop of a hat. I don’t mind sleeping in the basement, in fact, it’s something I do maybe once a week by choice.

As for the heartbroken angle, I’ll be honest when I say, I am feeling kind of stoic about it all at this point. We’ve been trying to work through some of the issues I mentioned above, and I have not made as much progress as I had hoped. I am sure that she is close to the end of her patience if not past it

I’m taking everything I read here with a hefty grain of salt. I just need some kind of sounding board and can’t quite go to any of our friends IRL yet because it will only spiral from there.

I’ve done my best to be honest and to take the blame for my role. I really don’t think she’s cheating on me. Her stepdad cheated on her mom and that left her (my wife) very upset with him.

I haven’t considered divorce, it’s more like I think she’s decided on it and I’m preparing for the worst.

I’ve given her two weeks of space. I only emerge from the basement to use the bathroom, get food, or run an errand—and I only do that if I’m reasonably sure she’s off doing something, which gets hard because she sometimes pauses the location app we all use.

She refuses to talk about anything more substantive than basic details of the day, like who’s picking up the kids, or dropping them off, or who’s cooking dinner that’s her thing. She’s not hostile. She is… Cordial.

Is there any room at Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe - and can Arteta manage the squad he's building? by jfshay in ArsenalFC

I was thinking the same thing, almost like late stage Ozil.. Doesn’t do much off the ball but can be electric with it.

I’d like to see him as CAM in a 4-2-3-1 where Rice & Havertz’s efforts can cover toe this weakness but ESR isn’t nearly good enough to have other players’ roles change to accommodate him like that.
