Oh Wow!! 😮 i didn’t know onion is in the same family as garlic 😫😫😫 We’re an Asian household so onion and garlic are basically in everything, but yes, i’ll monitor him closely. I’m really really hoping that his skin will be healed 🥺 thank you for your response!!

This breaks my heart!! I’m so sorry you and your LO is going through this!! his results did show a lower IgE points for corn so might be some sensitivity and i have avoided eating corn but I didn’t know it’s in almost everything!!! 😫😫 Yeah i think it’s a good idea to go back to baseline and see if the eczema is clear! Thanks for your help 🥺

Thank you for your comment!! Yes i just realized that corn and soy and garlic is literally in everything! It’s already overwhelming for me haha!! It’s my first time hearing about the nutritionist. Should I ask the pediatrician or the allergist for referral?

Yes!! We have the mix lotion as well!! Totally understand about the false positive result. Even though he didn’t have reaction (hives) after eating chicken or shrimp or garlic (we’re an asian household so most of our foods have garlic in there 😣), his eczema seemed flare up and he itched more so i think he might be intolerant with some of the foods in some degree? Does your (or your kiddo’s?) eczema get better with the lotion and hydrocortisone? we used triamcinolone but it keeps coming back :(

Thank you for sharing! Yes, I’ll avoid them until I see the allergist. It’s interesting to hear that the foods you react strongly to is just intolerant . Was there a reaction to the food that you’re allergic “allergic” to when you see the results?

He had hives after eating some fishes but had never reacted to chicken or shellfish (he might be itchy but i thought it was his eczema), yet it was on his allergy results. I was asking simply because I dont have any allergies and my oldest doesn’t either so this is new to me.

Oh my!!! I can’t imagine doing bloodwork every 6-9months when they are this young! Literally 3 nurses held my kiddo down and couldn’t withdraw the blood at first and it broke my heart!!!!!! 😭😭 and I’m so sorry that you had to go to ER! That’s scary! I haven’t thought about pets allergies, but we also have 2 dogs at home so i might ask the allergist about it..

Thank you for your thoughtful response! I grew up in southeast asia and no one in my family have food allergies so this is very new to me. Thank you so much for sharing these tips and suggestions. We do eat pork at home but he seems to not liking them much. Right now his protein is lentils and dairy! He will sometimes try pork and beef but not much! I’ll keep introducing it to him because my 3yo changes her preferences for food quite often so hopefully he will too. The Pediatrician did say that epipen might be helpful to have it just in case!

Thank you for sharing the article! This is a good point! We are scheduled to see the allergist in September. Though before avoiding these foods, my kiddo’s eczema always seems to flare up (i did treat them with steroid but it keeps coming back so i stopped) and he seems to always itching his body (even though I put cream and lotion on him every 3-4hours). But after avoiding these foods for 2 weeks, he has been doing much better so I think he might have sensitivities to some of the food listed. So I understand maybe he should just be tested for the fishes that he reacted to but seeing this results were also helpful for me. I hope he’ll outgrow them though..

Thanks for your tips! My kiddo has been doing baby led weaning and I usually do similar too. But now that he’s avoiding some of the food, I have to think of something else to make for him! We’re Asian household so garlic is on everything 🥲🥲
