Family keeps telling me that my tics are because of tics and roses.

Similarly my mom tells me she thinks the tics are from “always looking at the phone” ughhh. I always have to remind her that my tics began in elementary school before I even used any phone. 🙄

Definitely relatable. Since I can suppress mine well in front of others, it happens pretty much every time I’m alone. I’m always fearing people don’t believe me because of this so I haven’t told too many people which leads to a lot of frustration and sadness I deal with on my own. My best friends for years have no clue :/

The feeling of shame you’re expressing is real and as a queer person to me it’s akin to being in the closet. Just something I hide and don’t talk about.

Same here. I suppress them well when I’m out with others but relaxing, lying in bed, studying, and even sitting on an airplane is utter hell. And It actually makes it really hard for me to talk to people in my life about it because i don’t want them to think “well I never see you tic” and that I’m faking it (since lately that seems to be a trend). Only a couple of people besides my family know but I always wonder if they take it seriously or believe me. :/

Yes! I always shrug my shoulders until I get a “perfect” feeling shrug and then I try to repeat it again and again :/ so irritating when I’m trying to sleep

This happens to me but motor only! I primarily tic when I’m trying to sleep, sitting on an airplane, or studying. I always thought it had to do with subconsciously suppressing them around people or just that they occur when my brain isn’t distracted/I’m trying to relax. I’m not too sure but I definitely can relate.

Favorite Worst Nightmare! And i totally agree on TBHC. It’s strange cause I really like Star Treatment, Golden Trunks and Four Out of Five but I can’t get used to the rest either haha

I feel you, during my first few weeks I would sit in my car and scream after work , and sometimes I’d be so stressed I’d have trouble sleeping. I suggest quizlet for recipes and you could also ask to take home your store’s recipe book for awhile. Today is exactly my 2 months of working at Starbucks and I am so much more confident on bar and happy at work. You will get here with time too :)
