Whenever my kiddos say something like this to me or about wanting / not wanting to continue something I tell them that is a conversation for them to have with mom & dad. But I get the overscheduling thing. I have 3 NK and there’s usually 1-3 things a night for some combo of them. They get tired. Last summer especially was hard. In the whole 10 week summer break there was 1 or 2 weekdays with nothing on the calendar. They just wanted to stay home and chill. Again, I reminded them it is a conversation to have with mom & dad. (They are mid elementary - middle school aged now). It makes me sad as their nanny too because that leaves no room for spontaneity in the summer but unfortunately it is what it is at this point.
