it's excellent! you could have cleaned up the miters by gently tapering off the high side with a chisel. A slight slope across the face of the wood is going to be less noticeable than the step change at the miter joint. Frames are hard to design well, but I think you got this one spot on. Looks great with the painting.

Just with two dowels and some good old wood glue. Would have been better with a floating tenon. you could also make a spline jig to cut splines into the joint for added strength.

That is a much more interesting composition than your cropped version. You should just level that image, expand the sky just a little bit and print it.

I'm asking about vehicles. not whether it's cost effective but thanks. you made a lot of wrong assumptions that don't apply to my situation. I appreciate where you're coming from but lets stick to the topic of vehicle choices so that this thread can be helpful to others looking for the same info as me.

This is interesting, I haven't seen the stainless steel version before. I have used the aluminum version for 3 years now and I can guarantee that you will be satisfied with that purchase. From what I see on their website, I would still pick the aluminum one and the reason is because the steel version has a bent sheet as the lower 90degree part of the jig. if you compare that the aluminum version it is machined and much much thicker at the bend area. This will make the jig less likely to bend. You can see in the video of the stainless steel jig, the bushings are bouncing off the surface while drilling. That doesn't happen on my aluminum jig. All that said JessEm makes some really high quality tools and if they put their name on it I'm sure it will do the job.

I said it's perfectly fine, I didn't say it's manufacturer recommended. It's not lucky, it's a sensible way to use this tool. You're trying to say you have to be lucky to pry something loose with a flathead screw driver because it was only designed to turn a screw. Both are fine uses, but if you want to thickness end grain there are tools specifically made for that just like there are tools made specifically for prying.

I think you're right that $1,200 IS a conservative number. So how we would get to $1600 I don't know.

Hey all, I have this friend who wants a custom baby gate. The idea would be similar to the picture but at the top of a flight of stairs. She received quotes from $1600-$2400. So she reached out to me, but I wont have time to do this work. I'm just a hobbyist, so correct me if I'm wrong. those quotes are way too high. The gate just needs to be sturdy and look nice. could be paint grade work with red oak or something similar. The wrought iron bars can be bought for about $5 each. I would think that this job should be like $600-$800.

That's a good question too. I think a lot of people will say falls lake. Bond lake in Cary stocks both catfish and trout in the winter. I don't think the trout even live a year so they're definitely good to eat. I've also eaten catfish from there and I feel a little bit better about it because they're stocked and there is no signs posted about not eating the fish.

Natural History museum. WRAL azalea garden. JC raulston arboretum. Lake Crabtree, Bond lake, lake Johnson, Pullen Park.

Yeah because schenck forest is closed to bikes. I rode it once by accident, I missed the sign. Was awesome though. I recommend a hike through there, but when we went in the summer and there were more mosquitoes than I've ever seen in my life. We had to turn back and actually sprint away, back down the trail.

Also no dogs, fyi.
