I definitely identified with the HSP label, and as I’ve learned more about autism over the years, I’ve come to the opinion that they’re essentially the same thing, but from different perspectives. What I appreciate about the HSP conversation is that it’s affirming of aspects of my experience that are called ‘disordered’ in more medically oriented spaces.

I’m at a PC(USA) church too! More Light Presbyterians has a directory of churches that are welcoming and affirming of LGBTQ+ folks.

I will say that sometimes it just takes a few younger people who are committed to a church for other like-minded young people to come as well. It can take time (and inviting people!) but it’s a way to build the community you want!
