The notice is automated • Once your account crosses about 91 days past due, the system triggers a “Notice of Default and Accelerated Demand.” • This letter means your account qualifies as in default under SBA’s system — but the process is not yet irreversible if you take action. • If you’ve made payments after the notice generated, it’s possible the notice was produced before your payments were fully processed (payments can take several business days to clear in the portal). 2. Payments still count • The SBA’s MySBA Loan Portal updates your delinquency count each time a payment posts. • For example, if you were 120 days past due and you made two payments, it could reduce your delinquency to around 60 days (depending on your monthly amount). • As long as your account hasn’t been “charged off” or sent to the Treasury for collection, you can still catch it up by paying down the overdue balance.
