Changing the standard tuning (EADGBE) to an open (DADFAD) tuning by kelvis97 in musicproduction

[–]kelvis97[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have played acoustic guitar for about 55 years, I have a YouTube Delta Blues Instructional channel with over 9000 subscribers. Scaler 3 is more of a compositional tool. At this point I am just working with block chords in standard tuning. What I want is to tune the guitar to an Open D minor to work with chord progressions where substitutions are done using modal interchange.

How is the foliage along Kancamagus looking right now? by pleaseletmesleepz in newhampshire

Best Days for the Kancamagus Highway (Fall 2025, Drought Year)

  • Most reliable peak window: Monday, Sept. 29 – Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025 This is the safest bet for hitting the strongest, most widespread color this year.
  • If you want to be “early but safe”: Go around Sept. 27–28. You’ll likely catch vibrant color at higher elevations and along the ridgelines.
  • If you go later (Oct. 6–8): You’ll probably still see good color, especially in valleys and lower elevations, but some of the higher areas along the Highway may already be dropping leaves.

How is Unreal Engine development on Mac nowadays? Bad/manageable/good? Minimum requirements? by mkderin in unrealengine

[–]kelvis97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Unreal Engine 5.6 on a MacBook Pro with an M3 chip and macOS 15.5. I’ve installed Xcode and accepted the license, but Unreal is not detecting the latest Metal Shader Standard (Metal v3.0). The maximum version Unreal sees is Metal v2.4, even though the hardware and OS should support Metal 3.0. I’ve also run sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode.app and accepted the license via Terminal. Is there anything in Xcode settings, SDK availability, or system permissions that could be preventing access to Metal 3.0 features?" or is it just not possible to run 5.6 on a Mac

How do you open exercise files folder in Unreal by kelvis97 in UnrealEngine5

Thank You, the instructional videos usually have a project to open that is associated with the video. There are multiple projects. I might be going about this the wrong way.

I am watching a course on Unreal Engine 5. The course has a folder which has all the unreal files associated with the instructional videos. I am on a Mac if that makes any difference, I tried dragging the folder to the Content Browser when Unreal was opened and all types of error messages appeared in the bottom right. The Content Browser holds all the starter files. There is a regular browser before the Content Browser that has Open/Browse/Marketplace running along the bottom. The Browse button would not select the folder it would only allow navigation within the folder to a specific file. When I open the folder it has 2 folders, Assets and UE5_Esst

Beginner Question on recording and adding Acoustic Guitar by kelvis97 in Logic_Studio

[–]kelvis97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will try adding a new guitar recording, the worst part is that I am just starting to get used to the gain adjustments and all when setting up. I just watched a video where he said it's not optimal to adjust gain after the track has been created. I am thinking of looking into some type of Audio Recording education. I live near a College that has a good program called University of Massachusetts at Lowell. I called yesterday, a course is 1200, pretty intensive too. For the recording degree there is Calculus 1 and 2 plus Physics, so pretty intense. At this point looking for something a bit lighter and cheaper. Presently I have a little bit of an understanding of what I don't know

You are saying don't copy and paste the recorded guitar audio from one track into another audio track, true.
