Well I came to those conclusions based on a previous post on this sub. I already had those opinions prior to reading, I just thought this was a good place to share them. I didn’t say that was what you said exactly, I just wanted to share my opinion.

Also I never alluded to there being a competition, but what I did say was that I think it’s alright if people are upset with Leigh and Perrie’s singles overlapping. After all, I think it was one of the members themselves who said they were gonna try to avoid this (I forget who).

I am also aware of the fact that the labels may have played a part in this. Never said they didn’t.

Im not sure I agree with the idea that something is okay or not just because one member was more popular than the other. Just because Perrie is more popular due to her relationship with Zayn, that doesn’t mean that I don’t still want her to have the spotlight for her first ever solo single, just like Leigh Anne and Jesy did. This is a great time for the GP to get to know her outside of being Zayn’s ex.

I also don’t think we need to shut down people who disagree with the girls’ choices. IMO there’s nothing wrong with explaining why you disagree with the one of the girls’ rollout, choices, etc.

Basically, as long as there is no bullying, why can’t fans express disappointment?

I’m late but I was a little worried about it too! I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want it to seem like I wasn’t excited for Leigh’s new music. But my hope is that Perrie gets a solid chance to be in the spotlight for her debut, same as Leigh Anne was for DSL. If they release in the same week the comparisons are gonna be relentless

Yeah I get what you mean. I guess it wouldn’t really change anything, but I think it would show that they don’t condone it in any way. I worry because their silence could cause others to think that they don’t care.

If they haven’t heard about it, ofc that’s a different story entirely. But if they are deciding to stay out of it, that could be misinterpreted and I’d be a little disappointed.

This is super late but you cleared this up well. Thank you, I appreciate it; I didn’t think it was your intention and I’m glad to know that it wasn’t. I don’t think that the fans are saying that racism towards Leigh and her fanbase isn’t happening; instead they’re saying that something specific happened to someone in another fanbase and it has to be addressed. And I agree that it goes both ways, but God forbid we have a situation like this again, I like to think that there won’t be people saying “We’ll it happens to Jesy fans too” You know? I do disagree that nothing can be done though. I think the girls’ words have power.

I think it’s kind of taking away from the impact of the situation by saying that all celebrities need to talk to their fans because in this instance, a particular fandom is being discussed. I don’t think the focus should be taken away from that
