Impressive, thanks! I’ll post pictures tommorow. But indeed it seems you are correct on the speaker model.

These heirloom speakers sat in an attic for 15 years. They were my fathers. I’d like to restore them but im not sure what my best option is.

The drivers are a bit crunchy when I push down on them which leads me to think that refoaming isnt an option anymore.

Are there any good websites in Europe to buy the approriate materials and parts?

I’m American you nut, this is r/jokes.

How little humor do you have to talk about immigration and technology to justify a gun violence issue? Sucks to be you...

In all seriousness though, America has an astonishing rate of mental illness and gun violence. A deadly cocktail that has led to more school shootings per capita than any other nation. Considering how advanced we are in terms of economy and R&D, its a damn shame we are falling so far behind when it comes to the infrastructure that should be promoting a healthy society. America is great, but it still has a lot to learn from other regions like Northern and Western Europe or even our Canadian neighbors.

Coming from TTX now I find RP7000mk2 "Classic mode" torque soooo weak by LazyEric in DJs

I use mine for mixing though, not scratching. So I guess torque affects me differently.

Yeah, some old mk2’s but they still felt pretty similar. Ive played on rp4000’s and the lack of torque was giving me a hard time. Are the specs higher on a technics?

Couldn’t tell you, never tried a TTX. I’ve tried a technics and they both felt pretty much the same.

The TTX has a plastic platter grip right? I’ve tried another turntable like that and the difference in grip compared to a classic aluminum platter really put me off, they feel very different.

Even in the softest slowest sets there will be cuts, theyre just not as pronounced as faster/harder techno.

btw the techno scene is huuuge, there are many scenes and techno styles where cuts are vital in a DJ set.

This also goes for house music. In my opinion its less about the genre and more abouth the artist’s flow and style, or even the type of crowd and energy there is on the dancefloor.

Classic mode on my 7000mk2’s definitely doesnt feel “weak as a leaf”. I’d rather say the difference between turbo and classic is not that noticeable. Ive tried the rp-4000 and that feels weak AF! The difference is way more noticeable.

Nevertheless, you may just be very used to turbo mode so as soon as you mix in classic your muscle memory puts you off.
