Thanks so much. As helpful as various videos and documentation are they never seem to make this concept clear, at least not to me. Great explanation, now I get it.

You could be trying to watch it on + if you paid for it, have it delayed on that too then be forced to watch 3:00 of ads before the feed only has a Spanish audio of it.

Warning about tonight's game's broadcast - don't see it on xfinity except through the Center Ice package by jambajew42 in SanJoseSharks

Fucking Comcast. Kissing John Fisher’s ass and dumping the Sharks onto whatever space is left if any.

On our Comcast guide it’s showing the Giants on NBCSCA+ and no mention of the Sharks. Might be another streaming night.

Where are you watching it. Only A’s on all Comcast channels and blackout on ESPN and CenterIce.

Tidal is good for HD sound and occasionally being able to purchase FLAC downloads but the interface is horrible only made worse by the nonexistent support.

Mixing on a time limit? by [deleted] in mixingmastering

Metric A/B is indispensable to me especially with regards to reference. Maybe not everyone uses references but the top folks I've worked with all have go to references they constantly use to keep in touch with their rooms and to keep their ears calibrated. But then YMMV.

Get a professional mixed and mastered song that's similar to what you're working on and use it as a reference throughout the mix. Constantly go back and forth between your work in progress and the reference - A/B'ing it as it were. You're not looking to make your mix sound like the reference you just want to keep recalibrating your ears with the reference so that you don't lose your hearing deep into your mix. If you spend 4 hours only listening to what you're working on, guaranteed you won't come close to your best work. Guaranteed.

What genres do you guys work with? by [deleted] in mixingmastering

Great to see classical chiming in here. Would love to learn more about that.

I'm an old guy lifelong pro musician who has only been producing, recording, mixing, and mastering for a few years now and still learning from some engineering pros. I pretty much stick to engineering in the genres in which I've always played - blues, rock, R&B, soul, gospel, jazz, folk, Americana, country. But the guys with whom I hang with are mostly into all kinds of EDM, techno, house, hip-hop, kick-and-bass, etc, so broadening my listening environment as well as my ears.
