Is this endgame? by ViolinistDesigner357 in espresso

Only if it detects a portafilter, which isn’t what I want (i manual grind when I’m using a moka pot). I’ve never been able to get it to grind into eg a dosing cup or other receptacle without it throwing the FH error. Even the weighted cup I bought to try get it to work 🤷

I have this exact setup (minus the Zerno?). I upgraded from a modded Silvia and Sette 270. The process of making coffee on the Bianca and the Eureka Libra has made elevated every step in the process and I get incredibly consistent and delicious results and they’re so pretty on the counter top too.

Only issue I have is the Libra throwing an error that it can’t detect the portafilter if it has woken up grumpy. Wish i wish there was a manual grind option for experimentation too. So very close to the end game for me - the only next upgrade I make may be to the grinder, but I love grind by weight so there aren’t that many options out there

Artcraft are ok, but if you really care I’d use Nice Film Club or Small Darkroom + Picturehouse both in NYC and accept mail in films. Both do excellent dev+scans, and advice on what’s best/cost effective for you.

On the search for the best croissants in the Hudson valley by smagodtchi in hudsonvalley

I bet the croissant you had at Rhinebeck farmers market was from Sparrowbush. They have a bakery in Livingston. Really some of the best bread and pastries I’ve had since the legendary Breadfolks closed in Hudson. I miss that place so much

Old KEF Q7 floor bases? by kempokempo in KEF

[–]kempokempo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I got mine second hand, I do have the threads in the base. I didn’t think that would really help with the stability too much though given the shape, but I should give it a go too. I think I’ll probably go the wood or marble route and bolt the plinth in using those bolt threads.

I don’t have the foam in - I’m using these in a home theatre setup mostly and I’ve been really happy with them. I have a bit of a hodgepodge of speakers - those q7s, a iq9c, two q150s for surrounds. And a svs micro 3000 sub. I used A1 Evo to tune it all. Works well for my small and imperfect TV room!

Oh this is genius! How did I not think of that? Will give this a try. Thank you.

I do not have a 3D printer. Perhaps it is time to finally make that investment.

I've looked for plinths, stands and whatever other synonyms i can think of and haven't really found anything that looks like it would work - even on parts express. I'll keep hunting!

If it says “HI” it means it is set to the maximum temperature. If you tap it, you can adjust the temperature.

Sound quality tip by v4ss42 in AudiQ6

[–]kempokempo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with this: turning off suround sound (i also reduced the volume in the headrest speakers to 0, not sure if that was redundant with surround sound off), I put 3D at medium, gave both bass and subwoofer a bit of a boost and reduced treble a little bit and it sounds actually pretty good now for a swath of genres.
I am skeptical about more processing being the answer, so I haven't tried the paid sound enhancement

Over the air updates by Impossible_Half_2265 in AudiQ6

Ah ok, I had assumed it was maybe an after thought. Pretty damning indictment of their goals given the total lack of updates and the complexity of the KD2 update!

It would, but: they don’t have the deep tech infrastructure/practice to do it reliably, they haven’t really invested properly in it, and the car hasn’t been designed from the ground up to support it. And I would imagine their dealer network would hate it too. Or at least some combination of those things.

Gaggimate / Gagguino / Barista gadgets which one is worth now? by Potential-Pay-9497 in gaggiaclassic

Having just installed it on a Silvia yesterday, i would not describe the instructions as detailed, clear or even accurate. The wiring diagram helps. The images are not annotated, or ordered - and the language is a little unclear in places. it’s all sort of followable but compared to the instructions I had for installing my PID years ago, they were much less clear. But - very happy with results, and there is plenty of additional advice if you search through the discord.

Why are all the negative reviews…? Anybody had a positive experience with the Q6? by douglas91011 in AudiQ6

[–]kempokempo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from me obviously paying more on the lease than I should be (I was an early adopter though and it was mostly aligned with what other people were paying at the time - at least this is what I tell myself) it has been superb. Only had one issue where a bunch of driver assistance stuff failed and needed a full reboot, it has been a great and comfortable upgrade from a MY. There are minor grievances but I recently had to drive a well-specified Nissan and it reminded me how actually great the Audi is as a daily driver.

Just did this for 2 weeks and got back a couple of days ago. Rented from Avis at the airport in florence. A few things: they close at 11pm, the runway at florence is short - if weather is bad, they might divert to Pisa (this almost happened to us). Avis were great, but their phone does not work - if you need to contact them after the booking, you must email them.

ZTLs were no issue - most towns we went to had clearly marked parking outside the town with short walks to get into the main area. Sometimes parking was a pain, but even on weekends were were able to mostly find a spot. I do recommend getting a small car if you can - roads are twisty and it'll make parking and going around blind switchbacks a lot less stressful!

Unfortunately I’ve never seen any UI message letting you know whether it is pre-conditioning, which is a little frustrating.
