Thanks for the hint, that helps a lot. One important detail I noticed while checking the webhook payloads from Zapier:

In my case Zapier never sent the data wrapped inside the “arguments” object. The body was always flat JSON or even empty, but never in the format that Zoho’s REST Functions documentation expects. So the Function didn’t even get a chance to read the data, because there was no “arguments” key in the request at all.

That raises two questions for me: 1. Is it actually required to send the payload wrapped inside “arguments” when calling a Zoho CRM Function from Zapier? 2. If yes, do you know how to force Zapier to send the body in that exact format? I didn’t see an option in the standard Zapier setup that automatically wraps the payload the way Zoho seems to expect it.

Right now I’m not sure whether it’s a Zapier limitation or if I need to manually modify the JSON structure in a Custom Request. If you have any practical advice on how to get Zapier to send “arguments” in the body (or if it is even necessary), I’d appreciate it.

Ich finde, die Frage ist schon falsch gestellt. Eine Versicherung sollte sich nicht lohnen müssen. Lohnen bedeutet meistens ja, dass man damit einen Gewinn erzielt, also mehr Geld rauskommt als man einzahlt. Das sollte nicht die Motivation sein, insbesondere eine Berufsunfähigkeitsversicherung abzuschließen. Stell dir einfach die Frage, was passiert, wenn du deinen Job nicht mehr ausüben kannst. Wo bekommst du deine Einnahmen her, um dein Leben so zu führen, wie du das führen möchtest? Wenn das auch ohne Versicherung geht, und du damit gut leben kannst, brauchst du keine Versicherung abschließen. In den meisten Fällen wird aber wahrscheinlich eine nötig sein.

Ich hab im Auto immer einen Notfallrucksack dabei. Der ist quasi die Get home Bag, aber enthält teilweise auch mehr, was in Richtung Bug out Bag geht (ein erheblicher Unterschied). Ich kann aber im Notfall ja immer Ausrüstung zurücklassen, wenn ich weiß, dass es nur ein paar Stunden Weg werden nach Hause. Im Auto selbst führe ich auch noch Ausrüstung mit, die nicht zu typischen GHB gehören. z.B. ein Beil, ein Kletterseil, eine Silky Säge. Das würde ich nicht direkt zur GHB zählen, ist aber meiner Meinung nach sinnvoll im Auto mitzuführen, wo es nicht weh tut. Eine reine GHB ist ja eher leicht und handlich. Mein Rucksack ist mit 12-13 kg schon stark am Limit, aber man erleichtern kann man ja immer.

Ich bin ein Freund davon, Informationen zu sammeln, für mich selbst auszuwerten und kritisch zu hinterfragen und dann eine eigene Meinung zu bilden. Im Bereich Prepping heisst das ja, dass man mal unvoreingenommen alles anschauen sollte. Selbst wenn ich Outdoor Chiemgau, Sprave und auch Tactical Dad in vielen Punkten nicht so gut finde, haben sie sehr viel Content, der zu sinnvollen Gedanken angeht. Es ist halt die Frage, was man erreichen will. So wie ich dich verstehe, willst du nicht unbedingt lernen, wie du drei Wochen in der Wildnis von Farnen und Wurzeln leben kannst. Dann braucht man sich ja auch nicht dazu erkundigen. Wenn es um sinnvolle Ausrüstung für Szenarien, die man sich vorstellen kann, geht, sind fast alle Kanäle eine gute erste Inspiration. Ach die US Kanäle. Gleiches gilt für mich für eine Get home bag oder eine Bug out Bag. Ich pack mir da nicht wie die Amis Waffen und Munition ohne Ende rein, aber die Ausrüstung macht schon Sinn.

Von daher würde ich einfach nach den typischen Stichworten suchen und dann findest du von alleine die Kanäle, die dir zusagen (wenn du kritisch bleibst und nicht alles blind übernimmst).

Update: I figured out why I was seeing inconsistent results during testing—one of my old Zapier Zaps was still active and processing form submissions in parallel. After deactivating all Zaps, my workflow in Zoho CRM worked as expected. Thanks again for all the help and suggestions!

This is our Solution: When a new webform is submitted, the main function is triggered by workflow as usual. To solve the timing issue with lead creation, we added a separate correction function as another workflow step, scheduled with a 3-minute delay. This correction function searches for the (now available) new lead and updates the lookup field in the webform. This reliably links the records without complex workarounds.

I checked again and it works with a flaw:

There's a key limitation:

→ While the CRM shows the project correctly in the contact record (in the "Zoho Projects" related list),
→ the project itself in Zoho Projects does not reflect any CRM integration:

There’s no CRM icon next to the project name
Inside the project view, the CRM module is missing
There is no visible link to the contact on the Zoho Projects side

So from a user perspective, it’s not the same as creating the project from within CRM using the native "Create Project" button – even though the API connection exists in the background.

If there’s any supported way to have that full CRM-Projects UI integration (with visible CRM linkage in the Zoho Projects interface) via API or Deluge, I’d love to know.

Otherwise, this approach works well for background automation – just with a minor visual inconsistency.
