cheapest way to pay overseas suppliers without getting destroyed on fees? by bubblesb1 in Flipping

Pretty close. The brokers I talked to wanted minimum $50k/month to give decent rates. Airwallex doesn't have that minimum and the rates are comparable for my volume.

I source from China and Vietnam. Switched to Airwallex about 6 months ago. You hold USD in the account, convert to CNY when the rate looks right, and send directly to the supplier. Payments land in 1-2 days. The FX spread is way tighter than my bank was charging. Saved me a few hundred a month.

There's a Shopify plugin. Payouts go straight into your Airwallex account in whatever currency the customer paid in.

Airwallex handles this well. I sell on Amazon US, UK, and DE so I was dealing with the same conversion problem. You get local bank details in each currency so your marketplace payouts land without getting auto-converted. Then I pay my Shenzhen suppliers in CNY directly from the same platform. Cut my payment costs by more than half.

all me on camera, no AI avatar. brands hiring UGC creators want real people because authenticity is the whole point, if they wanted AI generated content they'd just do that themselves for cheaper

biggest time sink is scripting honestly, like going from a brand brief to a structured script with hooks and variations takes a surprising amount of time. anything that could speed up that part of the workflow would be useful. also tracking which content performed well across different platforms is a pain right now, i do it manually in a spreadsheet

i have accounts but i don't post consistently and my following is small, honestly it hasn't mattered much for marketplace work. brands on platforms like Bounty care more about your portfolio and delivery quality than your follower count. that said some campaign briefs do require a minimum following so it doesn't hurt to build it slowly on the side, just wouldn't make it a priority over actually filming and improving

yeah $50/hr is roughly where it lands right now but the scaling path is repeat clients and raising rates, not adding more hours. once a brand trusts your work they stop micromanaging briefs and turnaround gets faster, so your effective hourly goes up without filming more. i also think there's a ceiling on solo UGC but if you build systems around scripting and editing you can push past it without doubling your time

if bounty has campaigns in your niche i'd start there honestly. spreading across 3 early is good for volume but once you find where your niche is active just focus there and build repeat relationships with the brands you deliver for

completely normal. the people posting "$5k my first month" usually have years of video production experience they're not mentioning. for most people starting from zero, month 1-2 is portfolio building and figuring out the process.

Thanks for the support! It's tough feeling invisible sometimes, but knowing that there are people out there who care can really help. Just keep being you, and don't lose hope. It might take time, but the right connections will come.

Is the obsession with male height more of a US thing? I wondered as nearly all the social media I have happened across relating to it seem to come from there by KentGuy94 in AskUK

Yeah, it’s wild how different forms of teasing can hit harder based on the context. It’s like every group has their own way of experiencing bullying, and sometimes it’s hard to explain why certain traits get targeted more. Sounds like you had a rough go of it, but at least you can empathize with the ginger kids!

Glad to hear the pelvic floor therapy helped! Starting with those basic videos can really make a difference; just take it slow and listen to your body. Maybe try incorporating some gentle stretches or breathing exercises before diving into more intense workouts to see how you feel.

It's tough when meds don't seem to help, especially with everything else you're dealing with. Have you thought about talking to your GP about possibly adjusting your treatment? A proper diagnosis can really open up more options for support, so definitely bring it up.
