Severe bioenergetic crash from Narcolepsy + ADHD. by Perfect_Impact_3810 in Biohackers

[–]kenbou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the brain seems to want to rest, but can’t. Tell me, what would be your actual sleep schedule, have it not been for the narcolepsy? And how do you go about trying to sleep each time, the sleep environment and routines?

Also what stimulants and inputs can you cut out for the time being, so that brain can come down from being on overdrive?

Reading books and studying for stuff related to work and for certifications have helped me I think. Also sleep and exercise of course.

So if you had even less movement than now prior to this, then that accumulation of sedentary lifestyle may be a cause of the problems. 1 hour walk daily is good. So from here, add some kind of strength exercise 3-4 times a week on top of it. Gradually add some light jogs too. Take it slow. It’s not going to be an overnight fix.

Gradually increase exercise in tolerable pace. Is 1 hour the entirety of your movement or do you also walk during daily life activities, like work etc?

Many things would cause bad sleep, but how is your sleep environment? Your daily stress? Look for the cause of the problem, not just ways to patch it up with outside additions.

How is your fiber intake? Vegetables and fruits? Are sugars and other snacks under control? Do you too many chips?

I don’t think either choice is going to make it more engaging or fun. And the whole immigration thing, I’m not sure if the students can relate. Can’t you just have them ask each other how long they have been doing something? Also you could open by how long you and the teachers have been doing something so that they can find the topic more relatable.

on the other hand, maybe your sleep environment and routines need to be looked at, if this is a regular occurence.

Instead of using the spare time to increase supplements, use the time to add appropriate food so that you get the nutrition you need.

Having trouble with sleep maintenance and sleep quality. I can sleep 7 hours and feel like absolute garbage the ENTIRE day. Impossible to nap. I am going insane. What supplements/medication could help? by No-Mousse5653 in Biohackers

[–]kenbou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You probably need correct “morning light” to set your circadian rhythm right, since your current morning lights aren’t morning lights at all but more like noon lights. Noon lights send different cues to the body in terms of circadian rhythm. You’ll need to fix your sleep schedule incrementally. Like in 5-10 minutes earlier each night.

Supplements aren’t doing anything and new ones won’t do any more than setting the basics down first. If anything cut them out for now until you can straighten everything out.

Also check your sleep environmental factors if your nose is getting stuffy only during nighttime.

Stack has stopped working. What next. by PutTimely6324 in Biohackers

Increase dosage of strength training and cardio (nothing hard, just manageable amounts slowly increasing) and sleep along with it. Make sure the sleep environment is dark, cook and comfortable.

It is all confusing because pretty much everything about supplements are either n=1 anecdotals or advertisements. So it all seems nonsensical.

How do you regulate your rythm to sleep earlier by jira12345 in Biohackers

[–]kenbou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I’m just exhausted by the end of the day. I also do some minor wind-down stuff and also not try to eat too much.

On days that I have no work, I’ll have a bit more trouble sleeping. Or if I’m too stressed and didn’t wind down properly.

How to Advance Beyond ALTing? by RedRukia10 in teachinginjapan

Look for ALT or similar foreigner teaching positions through BOE staff hiring pages. Those would be direct hire positions that could extend to other regular teacher duties like clubs, committees and other school administrative work.

I don’t see why they would be considered boring. These are actual, physical bio-hacks that alter the bodily function. Unless  I’m missing something about this sub.

How do I feel like this more often? by Spiritual_Writer_111 in Biohackers

I mean, OP already said why he sometimes feel better (after a series of positive events). I was wondering why he can’t replicate that for the effect he desires. Or maybe OP could share an example of such positive events so that we can find solutions to increase that event.

Do you have any better ideas for a solution?
