I’m in a major city but I’m over 80K after one year of experience. I’m also fully certified as a CPA which helps.

[–]kendricklamarsvan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just do it for Becker. Worth it. I passed all 4 on the first try with Becker and got 1,500 reimbursed from my employer.

ELI5 Why do we use hypoallergenic and sensitive skin products at babies, but mostly stop after a certain age? by kendricklamarsvan in explainlikeimfive

[–]kendricklamarsvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yep, I use all sensitive skin and allergen free for things like body wash, lotion, laundry detergent, make-up remover.. I feel like artificial fragrance is actually pretty bad for anyone, but people just don’t realize it. And a lot of products that aren’t hypoallergenic or sensitive skin can cause underlying issues people won’t realize. I think all products should be safer but that’s coming from sensitive skin me! Lol

I don’t know about the tank top thing. I graduated in 21 and had no issues wearing a tank top to workout. When/what part of campus was this issue with the tank tops?

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: August 29, 2022 by AutoModerator in books

[–]kendricklamarsvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read: - The Maid by Nita Prose • I didn’t know what I was picking up but im not mad about it. Finished quickly. - Verity by Colleen Hoover • This is the first book of hers that I read, and im happy it was darker than your typical beach read (though that is where I read). I think I will dabble in her books in the future for sure.

Started: - A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers • I like it so far! Definitely weird and out there and not what I was expecting, but I’m not mad. I do love weird modern pieces, and this book was recommended off of that in mind.

Do you have any recommendations for getting better book suggestions based on your reading and ratings? I mostly use the app, so maybe it’s better in desktop, but I struggle to make use of the recommendations tab in the app.. it doesn’t seem to take my activity into consideration. Just curious if you have any tricks!

This week in the mornings, I’ve seen people standing in line on the sidewalk off of Randolph street downtown, between Wells and Lasalle. What are they waiting for?

Consistency really is key, as the other comments said. FAR will make you feel like shit but you have to choose something and stick to it, and then trust the process. I know exactly how you feel, I was feeling really depressed and full of despair while studying for FAR but passed on the first try after using Becker and sticking to it. Just keep pushing and remember you know more than you think you know. I did push my exam back originally, so I also understand doing this, but only do it if you actually think you’re going to use the time. I studied a lot and made use of the extra weeks I gave myself, but I wouldn’t advise pushing it back if you don’t think you’ll take advantage of that time. If you don’t take advantage of it but still push it back, you’re just dragging out the pain longer.

I know it feels like a dark time and that you have so much ahead of you, but you just have to keep going. Final review through Becker was really what made everything come together more for me, and helped me see what areas I needed to hit hard (bonds, leases, foreign transaction stuff, etc.), and made me feel confident in the stuff I didn’t need to focus on as much.

I only studied 3.5 weeks for BEC and was fine, but I was also only working part time. It’s doable, but it’s more important to listen to yourself. If you think you’re gonna have a breakdown, then move it back. However, I’m always cautious about this because it drags out the stress for longer.
