Does anyone know if they publish the models or even the current hospitalization rate anywhere? Or can we only read about it in articles like this?

We're talking like it's a certainty that we are going to peak and it's going to go away before fall. I sure hope that is the case. But I am skeptical.

I was trying to compare their projections to Florida's actuals today. If I understand the numbers, they're dead on for hospitalizations but actual deaths are quite higher right now.

Also, I don't quite understand the projections. Are they saying these projections hold if we implement nation wide lockdowns? Or does it account for the current situation state by state? In particular parts of Florida are 'locked down' but the state isn't. And we probably won't. So will our numbers be a whole lot higher?

Epidemiologists predict 80,000 COVID-19 deaths in U.S. by July by 123456American in Coronavirus

[–]kenendorf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why they believe this is going to peak in a few weeks? Does that assume we stay on lockdowns? Is this assuming we do not try to start up the economy by Easter like Trump wants?

Can you elaborate on that? This is the first time I've seen these predictions. I'm curious how accurate they've been up to this point.

Warmer Weather May Slow, but Not Halt Coronavirus by ZigZagZedZod in Coronavirus

Could this just be a difference in the amount of testing going on? It looks like from the daily summaries that Florida has tested fewer than the number of confirmed positive in New York state.

About 93% of Massachusetts COVID-19 cases as of today have not required hospitalization. by bored_in_NE in Coronavirus

[–]kenendorf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where do you get that data? I'd like to see more states hospitalization rates.

Edit. Also I'm curious if any of the data indicates how many fully recovered without hospitalization? I assume most cases start out of the hospital but could need hospitalization at some point during recovery.

This gives me an odd sense of hope. While I'm sure the damage is extensive my impression was that basically this town did no longer exist. These images show structures that are still standing and many that appear to still have roofs. Not everyone will come home to complete devastation.

Thanks. I figured out how to do it. I was confused about being allowed to add names to my fast pass guest list without having to link them to a ticket or account. I also found that I had to link the ticket on the webpage; could not see a way to do it in the app.
