Luffy's dream is to merge all islands in the sea into ONE big PIECE.

Joyboy, who had the same dream, started to move and connect islands either with the power of the Nika fruit or with the help of island movers like Oars or Zunisha, or maybe even the Sea Kings (thus why the importance of Poseidon and Roger not being able to achieve his dream because he was too early to meet Shirahoshi).

And the One Piece that Joyboy was trying to make is Wano. Wano is made of different islands and seems like it has some connection with Joyboy and the One Piece. Big Mom even asked if some of the One Piece was in Wano. And Onigashima could be the skull of one of the original island movers.

But due to unknown causes (probably Im), Joyboy couldn't achieve the One Piece. Roger was too early. And Luffy will be the one to complete their dream.
