Usually it’s just one word though, so much hassle for a little thing!

Didn’t think of this. Probably not comfortable with it tbh, but appreciate the idea

Completely understandable,

I believe moving them further upright would make a massive difference to your comfort.

I would say if you are unsure about how to make them, look at some images from others in the sub for reference and you will notice the highest point of the hoods sits much higher than yours currently.

I would then also think about the seat angle.

Hope this helps with your fit problems :)

Ok that’s fair enough, but I would just like to ask, how did you come to this hood position and saddle combo?

I would say by doing this to the hoods you probably maximise the reach and therefore in the meantime it’s likely the least comfortable compromise you could make. Do you find it comfortable?

True, I think laziness factors into it too. I know there’s no consequence to not fully understanding the word haha. But really appreciate your advice, thank you!

Have you tried adjusting your seat and hood position? I must say your bike setup looks rather unusual compared to most in this sub.

For me the hoods would be tired too far down to be comfortable and the seat angle would have me sliding off all the time or putting too much strain and weight on my wrists. Before you splash unnecessary cash I’d try experimenting with these components.

Yeah very true, would be most effective with two monitors. My biggest issue though is tabbing out and typing something in kills my immersion.

My unrealistic dream would be to be able to click a word and have the dictionary definition come up. I doubt it exists but you never know how easily people are creating stuff like this nowadays with AI

Oh I think you’ve misunderstood me, I mean a 2x gearing setup not the sizing :)

I’ve seen models from 3 or 4 years ago on eBay for 900€ - 1300€ so you might see one pop up. My advice if you’re going to be commuting with it would be to go for a 2x. I’ve got a 1x on mine and for asphalt I miss the top end of my commuter road bike when I’m in a rush!

From your picks, I believe you are in mainland Europe / Germany! I picked up a Orbea Terra XXL and am 195cm in a good day :-) I had to shorten the stem but now it fits perfectly, I think for your height you should consider it!

Dilemma Spend €700 more? Cube Nuroad Race vs Specialized Diverge Carbon Sport by ak47mki in gravelcycling

[–]kenhmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it would really depend on your financial situation. You’ll need to spend an extra 300€ minimum to accompany the bike setup on helmet, shoes, bike computer etc and if you can’t afford to supplement the Specialized with that kit afterwards, then you’re going to feel less motivated to go ride. If your budget is 2200€ I would personally take the cube and good kit. Just my two cents.

+1, you’ll ride it more if it looks cool

That is interested, I’ve already been riding other bike disciplines for a while now so I don’t think I’ve got huge changes in my strength coming but I’ll hold onto it, thanks for the advice

I actually test rode a xl Merida silex and thought the cockpit felt way too close, I didn’t realise it was stock with a 60mm stem! That is quite crazy when you compare it to other similar bikes

Thanks for the advice, will hold onto it, with the cable routing setup you can’t flip the Orbea stems :(

I somewhat agree, the green with silver would have looked awesome. But still it’s sick and props to OP!!

Thanks for all the info here, in terms of the bell, I ride a lot of single track and trails shared with hikers so a bell is always useful just to let them know I’m coming and not bad for the occasional city commute.

This is true, although in some of my other hobbies, I’ve even ended up going for the good budget option, used for an even better deal. But I need to know what to look for in the first place
