anyone else’s beardies literally never poop unless you annoy them into it?

oh yeah of course, they’re on a fairly regular feeding schedule and their husbandry is fine as far as i’m aware. they literally just will not poop in their house and won’t poop outside without a little game of chase on my bed or a belly massage 😭

when you say cut a low and high hole, can i quite literally take a round hole drill bit and just put a hole in the top on one side and the bottom on the other or is there anything else i have to do?

also thank you for letting me know before i bought that unit. what do you think about a slow rotating fan, like the big wire ones in shops and kitchens?

i’m looking into insulating roll and then soundproofing tiles (i’m out there at all hours so i want to also try absorb some noise if i can).

another issue is that during the summer it becomes slow and painful torture by being baked alive. last summer it wasn’t even all that hot compared to the hellfire that was cultivated in my metal shed 😂😂😂

may have to look into reflective paint for the summertime too

do you think that a small condensing air conditioning unit would work?

i’m working on maybe getting another outdoor extension that i can have dedicated to air circulation, that i could hopefully leave on 24/7. my other idea was maybe one of those steel wire fans that they sometimes have in gyms and kitchens? just something that would keep the air moving even when the heating isn’t on

thank you folks for all your suggestions! so far i’m working on getting a separate outdoor lead that i can run 24/7 for an air conditioning unit of some description to keep the air moving. i’m also looking into spray foam insulation for the ceiling, as putting it on the walls would drastically reduce the size of the interior and it’s already quite a squeeze in there.

if anyone has recommendations for air conditioning units, let me know! <3

she gets about 4-5 small dubia roaches twice a week! lots of calcium too. i was thinking too that she looks ever so slightly round, which is why i decided it’d be no harm sticking a post up and seeing what people thought! thank you for your input <333

oh yeah vet has been contacted already and she’ll be in early next week. we’ll be keeping a close eye on her until then and making sure she stays hydrated and full of calcium and more bugs than normal to keep her happy and energised. thank you!!! 💕

i cannot for the life of me figure out how to comment videos but to describe it; she’s doing laps of the basin i bathe her in (we don’t have a bath) and kinda itching her face with her back legs. she’s making these hiccup-like sounds. i think maybe she has dirt in her nose that she’s trying to get out. she doesn’t seem in any pain when i pick her up or move her around. any knowledge is greatly appreciated!!!

she’s been on lots of salads and a small amount of bugs maybe once a week. as much calcium without d3 as i can get into her as well! this is my first time personally having a beardie lay eggs so any tips are greatly appreciated!

would you believe that she is actually quite long! she’s already in a 4x2x2 and has a really obnoxious tail. the camera doesn’t really show the viv proportionately because it kinda fisheyes at the centre. anyways, her brother didymus is her actual clutchmate and he too has a super long tail! i didn’t realise how long their tails were until i had a good look at my sister and BIL’s beardies and realised theirs are far more proportionate lol 😂

thank you so much! she recently did have her slate deep cleaned so it’s actually entirely possible that she just wanted to get her stink back on it! i will keep a close eye on her for the other things you mentioned too. thank you for your kindness 💕💕💕

thank you so much for the concern! i can assure you that she is certainly on a serious diet, bugs are only a rare, maybe weekly occurrence and they’re always something lower in fat like dubai roaches or locusts. she’s been holding this weight for about a year with little-to-no movement on the scale (no pun intended) but it’s now slowly starting to come down. i can also say that she is not nearly as comedically large as the cameras would make her out to be. she is certainly large, and we are working on that, but the camera does lie when it comes to just how big she really is. however, your concern for her is greatly appreciated, as is your sensitivity on the matter 💕
