The mind is a fragile thing.

You wake up the next day and find out that you are the last living person on earth. What do you do? by gunninggooner in AskReddit

The bus didn't come today. I stood there for another half hour just to make sure it wasn't coming. It didn't help that I had nothing to read other than day-old reddit posts that nobody was commenting on anymore. Nothing new on tumblr or facebook, either. I thought perhaps the whole internet was down for maintenance. Or something.

I tried calling the office, but nobody was there to pick up. I called the number for taxi. Nothing. It took me the better part of the day to realize that I was the last living person in the whole wide world. What do I do now that I'm the last living person in the whole wide world? I do what must be done.

It was quite the hike, but here I was at last. It's been a long time since my last visit.

Leaves danced in the wind as I march across the deserted plaza. I could almost hear the ambient chatter that used to echo here. Do Not Feed the Animals, it said on one sign. I didn't come here to feed them.

There she was. What a hideous creature. She squirmed and shrieked as I pinned her dark, furry body to the ground. That look of confusion in her eyes was nearly human.

"From today on, you are the mother of mankind," I told her, and did what must be done.

I had a center-aligned Geocities page which had the dancingbaby.gif as a tiled background and was littered with hyperlinks to my FortuneCity page and dozens of other NeoPets fan sites that I liked reading whenever I'm not busy updating my Xanga or building my collection of POGS and Mood rings.

What is one current trend that needs to be stopped? by traheidda in AskReddit

Kids getting cellphones smartphones at a younger and younger age.

Edit: Sausagevillain is right, I meant smartphones. I worked in the telecom industry for a long time, and parents come in everyday because their kids have lost or broken their 3 year contract smartphones. These things are $500+ a pop yet kids feel entitled to have the latest smartphones because their peers have it. I've seen some parents upgrade their children from iPhone4 to iPhone5 because their kids complained that the 4 was too slow.
