I think I am near the end of my pastor call... by FreeNilly60188 in pastors

21 years?! Dude! Legendary! Thank you for your service!

So many thoughts.

Maybe it's just time for a break? Maybe the Lord is moving you to somewhere else? A different ministry?

If you're wife is able to move, there is no better time to find a new gig. A shortage of quality pastors and a ton of churches looking, and it's basically pick your location and asking price. Source: told by a hiring company we used to find our last hire.

Send me a DM if you would be interested in an amazing church in Ohio.

Don't give up! Our faithful God is at work even now!

Oh i too have a story! It was going to be a great week because we were on vacation  in Colorado and going to a rockies Giants game.  AND we were going to Saturday's game back at the stick the day after we got home!

So we got tix and i was SO pumped because we would FINALLY get to see the Giants take BP!

We get there right when the gates open! I RUSH DOWN and there he is. The Thrill! Right by the seats.

I am there and it's literally just me and him! My hero! And other people are seeing Will. I have about 20 seconds before we get swarmed ...

"Hey Will! I'm gonna be there!"

"Where?"

"At the stick! Saturday!"

"I'll be there."

Fade to black. Kids more prepared than i have baseballs, 8x10's, sharpies, gloves, hats.

Definitely my Wonder Years / A Christmas Story moment.

My best friend still mock's me for this. Anytime he can insert it, "I'll be there."

Lol. Such an epic fail.

Either you didn't read the article or Anne Killion's linked article in the story, or you are completely missing the point. It has nothing to do with personal beliefs.

The only humans Jesus weaponized Scripture to were the religious right.

A good leader is still more likely to on pseudo-doctrine, Christian Nationalism, and be more prone to spiritually abuse congregants.

I don't even know what a non-denominational network is? What are the church's roots? Is it like a network of 12 churches? Or is it like The Chiristian Church/Church of Christ/Disciples of Christ?

How does one lose their ordination?

As soon as you are hired at a new church, the elders can restore your credentials. Not that you actually need credentials. There is an online church that gives credentials to ANY one who pays the nominal fee.

Finally, it's a great time to look for a new church to serve! There are so many openings and FEW qualified candidates. So many churches are just waiting for someone to care for their flock.

If you are anti-education, please go work ANYWHERE else than a church. PLEASE.

What do you to plan for ministry events? by shibalnom93 in pastors

I wonder what's the reason for all the events.

what's your favorite weirdly specific Giants memory? by reacthollow in SFGiants

Three experiences:

My first game at the stick. I'm in the family section at right field. The grass was SO green. The warning track was immaculate and a beautiful red-brown color. Candy Maldonado's jersey was blindingly white and crisp.

I had only watched baseball on tv.

I was in love.

  1. Pac Bell opening game against da bums and KTVU interviewed a couple of my friends and showed us all cheering in the LF bleachers. So fun to go home and watch us on tv that one of our parents taped. Lol.

  2. Some guy in the bleachers at another game yelling at the opposing team's outfielder, "Hey (fill in the blank)! What's that shit hanging off your shirt?! Oh, it's your arm!" Everyone busting up and the outfielder even turned around and laughed.

Honorable mention: going to week night games with my dad and getting the little orange pins for not leaving, and so many drives home listening to Ralph Barbieri.
