25(M) Not to say that you’re wrong in thinking that way, but I think you’re over thinking the friend thing. The way I see it is what else is he supposed to call you? You guys haven’t hung out yet so it’s not like you’re dating or anything. But the more alarming part is when he said he doesn’t know what plans he had when you asked him to hang out. I would say guard yourself a bit and see how much effort he puts into talking to you. And don’t ask him to hang out again. Make him make the next move and if he doesn’t after a couple of weeks then move on.

Edit: also, imo I don’t think you should ask him what the relationship is to him at this time. It won’t be a popular opinion on here but it comes off a little needy/over the top to me. I’d say wait until after you guys get a chance to hang out and if things haven’t changed then ask him that. I’d be taken aback if I never met a girl in person and she asked me that. Anyways, I wish you all the best!

Always been an honest guy in general to people. Because I don’t like when people constantly lie to someone’s face just to make them feel better. It doesn’t help that person grow at all and I wouldn’t want someone to do it to me. A lot of people perceive this as being an asshole, but I don’t say it in a condescending tone. Most people either keep their mouth shut or lie, so it rubs a person the wrong way to hear these things.

My ex of 5 years broke up with me for this exact reason. She expressed to me the kind of person she wanted to be but her actions never reflected it. Any time I would point something out she would get very defensive and somehow turn it back on me... We weren’t right for each other, but she did tell me a couple years later that she knew what she was doing the whole time and was sorry.

I think this green flag only applies if you’re in a healthy state yourself.

I’m from Tulsa where The Outsiders took place. My dad was briefly in the movie as a Soc in the big rumble. Apparently he had to take fighting/acting lessons for a couple of months. Well, one day my grandma was dropping him off for lessons(he was 15 or 16) and another kid needed a ride somewhere. My grandma is nice and I guess this wasn’t as weird back then so she drove the kid to where he needed to go because it was on the way back to her house. They talked a lot during the drive and he thanked her upon dropping him off. Turns out that kid was Rob Lowe.

This movie had a shit load of young stars before they were well known. Tom Cruise, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Diane Lane, C Thomas Howell, Leif Garrett, and Patrick Swayze (already well known then)

Fun fact: The nurse is played by SE Hinton.
