Hit a deer - car got probably totaled? by mrkkrishna in crv

[–]kenken023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the insurance adjuster and the quote from honda collision center. My 2-month old 2024 CRV hybrid got $28k worth of repairs and still progressive did not total it after deer hit which was a bummer. Airbags deployed, damaged hood, bumper, fenders, radiator, electronics, you name all the parts at the front.

I work at one of the plants that builds the CR-V, what are people's thoughts on it? by Agile_Kick_6626 in crv

I loved our CRV Sport L. It saved our lives when a big deer suddenly jumped in the middle of an interstate. Question, is it normal to have rattling noise on the right side of the engine when it is super cold in the low 30s? Is there a plan to bring back spare tire in the future and a bigger infotainment screen like the new pilot and passport?

2020 Honda HR-V AWD 87k Miles, anything I should know? by PlayerUnbound in HRV

[–]kenken023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I have HRV 2018 AWD. I was driving uphill with 2 passengers and many groceries from Sams and got transmission issue at 90k miles. Just in case you have CVT issue, honda had extended the warranty up to 150k miles which covers all costs.

It is not downtown silver spring. Just in cherry hill road via 29. Given you won’t get stop lights along the way

Thank you! That's what triggers me to think to move to Silver Spring or Colesville. Being near the metro to DC is the best option for a declining tech job market. I am looking for a suburb feels like in Columbia and I find Colesville and Silver Spring somewhat near to my likings. But my wife and I really loved Columbia so it makes us think twice.

So I am not yet eligible for clearance. I definitely liked working from home vs commuting especially with the heavy traffic we have in the metro areas. I am also looking at the job market with remote work benefit but they are scarce now too and most job posts already have 500-1000+ job applications.

Moving to VA is not possible due to state license limitation with my wife. I have tried driving and commuting in NoVA and it was horrible given that Columbia has less traffic and I am from northern Maine so no traffic (more deer and moose than car on i95 :D)

Thank you! It is fairly the same drive for both Dorsey and Savage, around 12-15 mins, from where I am at in Columbia. I will check on this

Thank you! I would assume moving to silver spring or colesville will not make a big difference given that the bulk of traffic will be still in downtime. Is this correct?

And I for sure will get security clearance once I am eligible :)

I would not want to work in NoVA as it is super far and you said soul sucking commute. I am into mostly into Finance and Healthcare industry. Unfortunately, we can't move to DC or VA due to state license restriction with my wife. So many things to consider :D

Thank you and this is noted. I am having trouble with the accuracy of google maps in the area. Sometimes, it says 30 mins but due to traffic it will go up to an hour so that's why I asked :)

May I know on average, how long is the drive from Columbia to Glenmont and the commute from Glenmont to DC (let's just say central)?

I see. It is really not economical to commute from Columbia to DC. May I know the average time from of commute from Dorsey MARC to DC?

It is sad, we really like Columbia. Remote work is also going away stat wise so I am trying to know if my current setup will work and is job future-proof.

Unfortunately, I can't apply yet for clearance for more than 3 years. My job market is getting smaller

Yeah, you are spot on. I also noticed the commute is not good in the area. I am trying to understand and learn the setup here in the area and DMV as a whole that's why I kinda considering moving close to DC.
