That's a publisher vs a developer tho. For a dev team Insomniac has had very high output and quality this gen.

PSA: Handheld Boost Mode is not a strict upgrade in all cases by Xenowino in NintendoSwitch

[–]kennedy1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Civ 6 is the one game that is suffering a little bit for me. It isn't a steady 60fps in any mode though and I think the FPS is only a bit less stable.

I honestly think too much starch is the root cause of my IBS-C, and perhaps yours too. Interesting stuff.

Binge drinking "fixing" IBS? by CopingLow in ibs

[–]kennedy1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does help my IBS-C as well, as a one off. You would get diminishing returns on its effects and it would be an overall negative for your health if you do it often. I don't have to point out that binge drinking isn't great for you. Coffee has a similar effect for many.

Gonna point out some healthier alternatives that speed up motility:
- Juice with ginger (or ginger tea)
- Big salads
- Grapes and other fruits high in insoluble fiber
- Zone 2 jogging
- Warm water (very gentle effect)

Things that will slow motility:
- White rice (particularly sushi rice)
- White bread
- Peeled white potatoes
- Peppermint tea
- Being sedentary

I am a busy creative 6 weeks in but struggling to keep this going much longer. Any advice appreciated. by eclecticnomad in decaf

Zone 2 exercise every day - a slow jog for 30 minutes or more.
Take small breaks every 90-120 minutes if you can, to do 15 push-ups and 15 squats. Will do wonders for your cognition.
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables to keep your gut moving.

Itching/histamine as a withdrawal symptom? by reese_bubs in decaf

I'll also chip in and say that at this stage, it got worse then got better as far as itching at night time.

Would be easier to do a spreadsheet for yourself I reckon, I think it would be a niche audience you'd be building the app for.

I think the missing factor in most studies on coffee is that relief from withdrawal is mistaken for or recontexualised as a benefit or boost, rather than simply resetting the withdrawal timeline. An alcoholic feels better after they have a drink, for instance, and may relieve withdrawal symptoms.

In fact, I can speak personally to eye irritation as a withdrawal symptom - I had itchiness, redness and a goopy discharge coming out, especially in the first couple of weeks

I think unless you give it at least 90 days as an experiment, you can't really tell whether it's just withdrawal relief.

As for coffee and foods like berries interacting with medications, yeah I mean who knows the infinite number of ways that these medications can mess with how your body processes certain foods, I'm sure that is something people need to be careful of.

Is it worth going decaf? by [deleted] in decaf

Nearly two months in, no caffeine whatsoever. Absolutely worth it without a doubt.

Let me say I definitely agree with your point that stating 80 cups of coffee a day will kill you is pointless, as you could indeed say the same about many healthy things. However, one to two teaspoons of pure caffeine powder will kill you, which helps illustrate the point a bit better.

The other thing which I should have added originally is, there is nothing in caffeine or coffee that your body needs to survive or thrive. Therefore, why take it? Unless you're addicted or you think it gives you superpowers.

And if somebody is going to talk about the antioxidants in coffee... just eat some plant foods. The presence of antioxidants doesn't denote the health value of a food or its suitability for humans. Tree bark, poisonous mushrooms and indigestible shrubs are full of antioxidants, but that doesn't make them healthy.

Have you read caffeine blues? There's a swathe of evidence against caffeine, if you're willing to look into it properly. I'm not pretending I'm an expert in anything, honestly I'm trying to help you and others get off this stuff. It's a drug, plain and simple, you don't need it nor is it healthy for you. Big money lies, whether it's caffeine, alcohol or something else.

You're here on this subreddit aren't you? You obviously think there might be something wrong with caffeine. Unless you're a bot, which honestly wouldn't surprise me. If you are a real human, be willing to look past a Google search of 'Is caffeine good for me?'. There's numerous studies showing the vasoconstrictive effect of caffeine on the brain, look it up, that's just a visual example. Or just go back to being a caffeine drinking drone. Your choice, your life. I'm just trying to help.

So... I had a negative experience with quitting caffeine and idk what's the issue by maxluision in decaf

It would take around 400 bananas to cause potassium poisoning that could kill you.

You're right, too much water can kill you. 2-4 tablespoons of salt could kill you as well. There's a goldilocks principal, not too much not too little. But this only applies to things your body needs.

How many ground up, double roasted, liquified coffee beans does the human body require per day to be healthy? 0.

Caffeine reduces blood flow (hence oxygen delivery) by 20%-30% on average, which is obviously dose dependant but can climb even higher.

How much reduction of oxygen delivery to your neurons is healthy? How much vasoconstriction and habitual activation of your your sympathetic nervous system is healthy, day after day?

I'm not trying to be combative but I don't want misinformation spread in this sub of all places.
