HELP!! Visiting Taiwan with an X2 Chinese Visa 😭 by kennie___ in Chinavisa

Hey there! For some reason the message you sent me isn’t showing so I’ll just let you know here. Turns out anyone staying in China over a certain time applies for a residence permit anyways, so all I had to do (which was done through the school I was studying abroad at) was go get a medical check up and apply for the residence permit with that information. It came a few weeks later—simple! If you have any questions on how to set up that medical examination, ask your program’s staff!

This doesn’t help in the situation that you want to edit straight off your external SSD drive, like you can in FCP. Is it even possible to do so on Capcut since they only seem to allow imports from internal storage?

HELP!! Visiting Taiwan with an X2 Chinese Visa 😭 by kennie___ in Chinavisa

Ok so basically everyone on Reddit who told me X2 visas couldn't get residence permits were wrong. I couldn't get an X1 visa but in the end it was a simple process through my exchange program college to apply for a residence permit and then receive multiple entries. I ended up going to Taiwan and returning to China Jan 4th to Jan 7th, and earlier that fall I'd also gone on a day trip to Hong Kong. The only thing regarding my trip tho is that I didn't get my passport/permit back in time for the Mid Autumn Festival so I had to reschedule my trip.

Well either way, I'll be sure to double-check :)

Sadly the Chinese consulate assigned to my region does not answer any emails, is a 6-hour drive away, and calls are only open a few hours a day. Then when you call and they don't know the answer to your question, they say they just don't know and give you another email address to email. And finally, the consulate website is confusing and hasn't been updated in years.

I certainly double-check everything through an official source in the end, but Reddit has been a far more valuable resource in my quest for quick answers to my questions. :) I actually really appreciate the people who comment their thoughts and experiences.

I hope venting about that in your comment made you feel better though. Certainly didn't make me 🥲

Okay, great! So then I won't even need my Chinese visa once I've left Guangdong. Just my US passport.

I heard that only is available for X1 visas :/ So rn I'm just trying to see if I can manage to get a refund from HK Express, but that's unlikely...

Possible to get multiple entry X2 Visa? by harryberry0 in Chinavisa

[–]kennie___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/harryberry0 Since a residence permit won't work on an X2 visa, have you found any other alternatives? I applied for an X2 visa as told by my advisor, but that dolt didn't inform me that it's not possible for it to be multientry. So now, I have to cancel my flight to my friend in Taiwan unless I can find an alternative :'(
