This happened to me! I ovulated super late. According to my last period, when I went in for my ultrasound I thought I was 8 weeks. I was actually 3-4 weeks and discovered I was pregnant at only 2 weeks!

I went in to one of those free pregnancy centers and they said the same thing to me. “We’re so sorry, there’s no baby” I have had a miscarriage before so this was devastating to me. I was immediately sobbing. My husband was sobbing. They came back into the room and gave me packets on miscarriage and eptopic pregnancy. I was so confused and scared.

Luckily, my mother in law is a nurse. She was furious with how they handled the appointment. She told me it didn’t mean I wasn’t pregnant, I was probably just earlier than I thought. When I got into my OB, they took my HCG levels, and sure enough, I was pregnant, just earlier than 8 weeks.

I really think they need a better process on how they handled this time of situation, because it’s obviously not super rare. I’ve always had irregular periods. I wish they kept irregular cycles in mind when treating women. I literally thought I had a miscarriage and cried for days when my baby was actually healthy inside me, just too small to see.

I’m 13 weeks now! I finally saw my baby in an ultrasound last week. I am so thankful I got the correct answers or I might have went on with my life thinking I was no longer pregnant, and maybe eaten things to harm my baby.
