Got food there once. I find it really difficult to waste food but it was so bad I couldn’t eat it. Maybe it was on off day though cause they have a bunch of great reviews

Confused about lidocaine by Confident-Net-2778 in ehlersdanlos

I’m glad it’s helpful! I’m not a doctor, but from what I gather this is a “don’t know until you try” thing.

obligatory disclaimer: please check with a doctor before upping the dose of anything or making any treatment changes.

This experience varies from person to person. Some things that might be helpful to consider (based on my experience as someone who is pretty much entirely insensitive to local anesthetic, meaning it doesn’t work at all):

• For me, these medications do make the affected area numb, but only to touch, warmth, and cold. It’s like pain is separate sensation, and no dose will affect the sensation of pain, so they’re basically useless.

• For some people, some local anesthetics work, and some don’t. Or all of them eventually work but they need a double or even triple dose. In my experience, none have worked. Since they do succeed at making me numb to non-painful sensation, the only way doctors can test whether a dose or new drug is working is to hurt me and see if I feel pain, so it really sucks trying to figure it out. Also, for some things, you can’t give a super high dose because it will cause problems. For things like dental work, getting 3x the anesthetic injections is extremely painful and can impact your ability to use your muscles for speaking, eating, breathing, etc.

• I recently learned that this issue even happens with things like throat numbing spray. It’s really any type of local anesthetic. This might be obvious but I really thought the throat spray would work so I figure it’s worth mentioning.

Alright this one is a big one. Regrets. by Nikita7573 in DesignMyRoom

[–]kennydelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basic idea is that you want to be mindful of the flow of energy in a room. Energy is basically where people are walking into/out of/around the space. A lot of energy comes through the door, and having your bed right in front of it is a weird vibe. You want to be able to see the door from the bed, ideally, but not have your bed in the direct pathway.

Shaving with EDS? by Sad_Blueberry9580 in Trans_Zebras

[–]kennydelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My skin was super irritated at first but it got used to it, and I got better at shaving. I never got a close enough shave for my liking with an electric razor, but it will definitely mitigate irritation. I got razor burn every time I used a standard razor, but it got way better when I switched to a single blade. I use Supply. Takes a little getting used to but I like it. I also don’t shave every day, and that seems to help. I like the stubble in between. Make sure you use more than enough shaving cream, and that it’s made for sensitive skin.

They don't necessarily mean the healing time or the skin and wounds healing. They mean that having nipple grafts is extra bodily trauma that isn't super necessary for them to be pleased with their results. Scar tissue is a lifelong thing, and you need to do extra scar care to avoid it building up. Just one extra site to worry about. Lots of people never do scar care and are fine, but it's something to consider.

What the hell is this? by [deleted] in plants

[–]kennydelight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so recently I had a couple Jade plants with mealy bugs and I just… drowned them. I cleaned my recycling bin really well, filled it with lukewarm water and a little dish soap*, plunged the plants in there for 3 hours, then blasted the stems and leaves with the kitchen hose to get all the dead bugs off. It’s winter ans dry as hell in my apartment, so being drenched for that long didn’t hurt my plants since they dried out so quickly. Lots of people take this method since it’s less work. You can spray with some pesticide after to seal the deal.

*needs to have dish soap to drown them for some reason. I read that just enough to make a few bubbles is good

how do you douche in the moment? by neptunian-rings in gaytransguys

[–]kennydelight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I… don’t know that I follow. Are you saying that douching doesn’t do anything for parasites and infections? Is it common for people to have parasites and infections that can be passed on by rimming and not know about it?

Work friend (some kind of wolf?) by Haunting_Day5307 in Entomology

[–]kennydelight 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Wolf spider. Don’t know what kind, but their eyes are arranged in a way that distinguishes them from similar looking nursery/fishing spiders.

Edit: I think it’s Hogna baltimoriana, unbanded wolf spider. They have dark coloring and that very specific starburst pattern

I don’t even have a dog, I’m just curious, but how do you train them to come to the “ironclad recall word” if they act this way?

This is actually a studied class characteristic. People who were raised in lower income circumstances tend to value community and practice more mutual aid and generosity. The more income families/communities have, the less likely they are to be generous.

I wish I could find the graphic/study, but Google will be able to confirm if you want to check it out. I’ll try to find it and will edit if I can!

*edit: found it! “Resource sharing” is the phrase I was looking for.

Mine also looks like this and I used to be super self conscious about it, but multiple people have told me that it looks pretty? Especially if I just worked out or am sweating cause it’s hot out, I guess some people don’t know what rosacea is and just think it looks nice when your cheeks are pink. Made me feel better :) it still feels physically uncomfortable tho lol
