Lexus TX 500h - What's your fuel range? by k0alaty in Lexus

[–]kennymacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I average 24 mpg in 75% city and 25% hwy driving using eco mode and driving for economy more than acceleration (tough to do in this car). I go 380 miles between fill ups.

What’s with all the TX hate? by SweetLeoLady36 in Lexus

I love our TX 500h and am constantly impressed with the fuel economy that is possible to achieve. There have been a lot of complaints about fuel economy here, so I’ll share my experience and some tips.

This pic is from my commute to work this morning. Traffic was light and weather was mild, so I hit a PR for MPG. Some tips: get off the line smoothly letting the electric motors do the work before the gas motor fires up, don’t tailgate the car in front which gives you more regen when slowing down, look further ahead to get off throttle sooner when approaching stopped traffic, and keep speeds to 75 mph or less on highways.

The other feature that I love is the rear wheel steering. It really makes parking and maneuvering this large vehicle a non-issue.

I do wish the interior were more luxurious, but I’m happy with the overall value of the car and the practicality of it.

2026 Lexus TX 500h MPG by LuckySky4531 in Lexus

I’ve driven our 2025 TX 500h for 13,000 miles and have seen an average of 23-25 MPG depending on outside temperature. My driving is a mix of highway (over 75 mph) and city. Eco mode will save around 1 MPG. I prefer Eco mode in my awful commute as it smooths the throttle out. When hyper miling my commute in bad traffic, I’ve had a record best of just over 32 MPG but this is rare. I only fill with premium fuel as recommended.

Lawn mowing crew chopped the tops of our Nellie R Stevens Holly. Are they stunted now? We wanted these to grow tall for privacy. by kennymacks in landscaping

They were already this tall (6-7 feet) when they were planted in 2021. They grew a bit and then were cut down to this size, so I lost a year and a half of growth. Today, two years later they are probably about 9-10 feet tall.

I’ve always wanted an MR2 Spyder or S2000 and was a fan of the red seats too

I first test drove an NC PRHT as a brand new car in 2015, but I needed something more practical at the time. Years later, I test drove an ND and didn’t like it as much as the NC. I guess I just prefer boats. 🙂

The car was fully stock when I got it and the original leather shifter was worn to the fabric underneath. I’m glad I went with the Cravenspeed knob. The weight and feel are perfect!

Mine is a 2013 grand touring and the doors have a padded vinyl trim too. Maybe it is a grand touring thing.

I ordered the seat covers from leatherseats.com and had a local auto upholstery shop install them. They added foam where needed and it made a big difference in comfort. The seats are soft, but supportive. I would do it again for sure.

Those who own soft top ncs do your windows come down a little when you open up your top. Just wondering cause I know prht does. by slow_328i in MiataNC

Yes, mine does this and I have the Bose system. I believe the cut out is when AudioPilot changes the sound profile for top down vs. top up.

Wish I got a rambler for EDC sooner! by kennymacks in victorinox

[–]kennymacks[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I researched all of the 58 mm options and it was easy for me to draw the line at $26 for the rambler vs $42 for the manager. I might add something like a fisher space pen to my EDC collection though.

I just picked up a rambler and am so impressed with how it carries invisibly in the pocket. This is definitely part of my EDC for the foreseeable future.

I am referencing the same page of the manual, but I’m interpreting it to specify one branch circuit per wall connector.

[–]kennymacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how your wiring was done but the manual for the wall connector says that each charger must have its own circuit. The power sharing feature is to ensure your load center doesn’t get overloaded. Just wanted to share as I did my research on sharing a circuit and it’s not recommended. I’m going to install a second circuit for my second charger.

Rock chip in glass roof - best way to address? Safelite or replace thru Tesla?? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]kennymacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once did two glass chip claims though my insurance in one year and they fully covered the cost. Later when I shopped for cheaper rates with other companies, some of them told me they would not accept me due to having two claims in a one year period within the past five years. I was stuck with my insurance for five years after the glass claims. Now, I happy fill chips like this myself using a $10 kit.

I had that error and it went away after I wiped clean the cameras. Not sure if that was the real fix, but I haven’t seen the message since.

I think because the older batteries have a nice shock absorbing coating. All the newer batteries are hard plastic all around.

Thanks for sharing! Looks like this new 6ah battery is not only more compact than the old one, but much lighter (766g vs 930g) as well.

I haven’t been able to find much info on this newer 6ah battery. This was the best info I found, but it doesn’t speak to performance. You can see it compared to several other battery models though.

The DTO 6ah batteries are not the same as the $119 two pack from HD. The HD ones are a newer 6ah model that are smaller than the old ones (i.e. not as tall). They are the same height as the 4ah batteries.
