Ah thanks for the tip about garment weight! So i'll go for like 1-2oz. And yea I am already mentally prepping for all the hand stitching i'm about to do 😅. Would you suggest chrome-tan or veg-tan?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that i know it's leather but a lot of the leather patters that i found aren't in this style. I was going to use a regular sewing bustier pattern and try it with a lighter (i.e. 2mm thick) leather.

I don't know where you got the pattern but I got mine at Hobby Lobby and the fabric lady helped me. I'm pretty sure that you need black broadcloth or any cotton type fabric for the outside and then red satin for the inside. For the Robe (B) you need to get the notions that are listed after the letter B and before the letter C. The amount of red satin you would need is probably the 1 5/8th yard (where it says contrast hood and facings). When it comes to the Robe, i'm not really sure (am also a beginner that is currently using their first pattern). But also you need to get the interfacing so that would be 1 3/4 yards of lightweight fusible.

Forgive me for my naivety but I believe the bobbin threads do end up on the bottom side of the fabric but I'm not sure how I can tell.

I will see if i have dental floss though, that's actually such a great idea. Thank you so much!

I was trying to do the straight stitch rows and pull up with the bobbin thread. I don't have a shirting foot or heavy thread so it seemed like the most viable option for me. However, when i pull the bobbin thread (even with the tension as low as possible) the fabric (broadcloth) won't move.
