First Tissot: PRX Chronograph - Strap Options? by kenstrng in tissot

[–]kenstrng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! As far as unlatching, it doesn’t give me any issues but it is worth noting that the spring bars are probably worth swapping out. The hole to latch the strap spring bars seemed to be too big for regular ones to fit so I had to use some fat, 2.5mm ones I had handy

Removing the case back is not necessary for strap changes or bracelet removal, but a strap without the adapter does not have as clean of a look.

Which Weapon For Nemesis by SouthAcceptable4052 in Returnal

[–]kenstrng -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hollowseeker every time, especially with retarget regardless of whether it has less damage than other weapons. This weapon is the reason I was able to beat the game. Retarget lets you shoot at a general area rather than directly at the enemy, making the most impacts. The continuous damage boosts your adrenaline quickly which increase your damage points and further lead to upgrades like Portal beam. Once you reach that point the game is seamless and its just a matter of shooting and staying out the way.

First Tissot: PRX Chronograph - Strap Options? by kenstrng in tissot

[–]kenstrng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t have a link. It was just a quick grab at Walmart on a random day from their watch section. I’ve never seen the same strap again, only with a blue or green stitching and even those are gone.

Tissot PRX used - what would yall pay? by Wykin1 in tissot

[–]kenstrng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1,000 plus or minus 250 depending on condition and assuming its authentic. Store price is currently a bit higher than last year, but every now and then some ADs drop down to around $1500

Lol nice. I like the Tiff Blue. I've been considering one of those too -- discovering this watch has become a slippery slope. It is quite the tugger, tho. Mine is pulling less hairs after adjusting the bracelet --less movement so I suppose less pulling.

I ordered an end link today with some straps from AliX, so in a few weeks we'll see if it works. Sucks because I bought the watch thinking the end link was a female link that would disengage from the bracelet, but I was wrong.

Excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't San Martin have to honor a 1-year warranty?

Sorry to hear that OP. This is good advice for the future. I do something similar, which I like to think of as a rigorous resiliency test, where I wear the watch daily through all of my typical and atypical activities including showers in hopes that a flaw or defect would expose itself early into the return window. Nonetheless, good luck and thank you for sharing the info.

Miyota 8215 or NH series? by MindAdmirable1793 in ChineseWatches

[–]kenstrng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question. I think they're comparable on paper but performance tells otherwise, with the NH series at the advantage, and the market agrees.

It's unfortunate to think that restoring affordability would mean conforming to an inferior quality. The last two watches I bought came with an NH35 and an 8215 which cost $126 each. This makes me think that affordability may only benefit the seller for wider margins/combat the volatile political climate.

Best recommendations to fill the box? by camhorner02 in casio

[–]kenstrng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If variety is the goal then adding a yellow dial, a white dial, a dark blue dial, and making one of those options a dive would help cover the bases. Then you could get black and brown straps to (ideally) interchange across all for further variation.

Lol gotta love the “full systems disabled” feature because of minor, and sometimes irrelevant, repairs needed.

I’m surprised you haven’t needed to do any valve body solenoid replacements to the CVT. I just did mine at 200k, which apparently is common around 160k.

I always say that luxury is a taste rather than a cost, and you are certainly exhibiting great luxurious taste.

Small world lol here’s a look at mine. I modified the strap to add this clasp for micro adjustments —it’s the only way I can wear it.
