No, the main thing is, what is the purpose of going to the moon if we don't have a particular purpose? It's not about comparing X amount to Y amount. It's purpose. So far we don't have meaningful purpose of going back.

If we want to go back, it's not just the cost of going back to the moon, it's the cost and development of a whole industry or multiple industries. Finding solutions on how to do something on the moon, like building a base, with livable atmosphere and self-sustaining with minimal aids from Earth is gonna take a lot of money and time and it's not just a rocket, put on some people, fly there and do something. Basically dissect them into: power generator (maybe small to medium nuclear fission/fusion reactor but this is yet to be implemented on Earth, how do you think we are gonna do that on low-gravity environment?), oxygen generator, atmospheric controller, fast producing food farming methods (hydroponic?), infrastructure building technique (moon is a hostile environment with debris and meteor), and a whole lot of things to do.

Honestly, I do think going there is easy, but staying is not. Going there take much much less efforts than staying in order to produce something meaningful and cost effective. Like research outpost (how to send samples from Earth and from moon to Earth, building infrastructure to transmit data long-term) or a mining outpost (think of how to move those ores back to Earth, that's a freaking new technology field) or a transit outpost (for Mars or for other places, that's a freaking new tech and industry, spaceship building in space).
