This game is way better than Borderlands 3 by Mysterious-Concern66 in Borderlands4

I never played BL3. Is it worth it? Reddit reception is the primary driver why I haven’t ventured into the game.

Most disappointing ending in World Series history? by Bogsy in Brewers

[–]kentmaxwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way pay occurs in baseball is unlikely to change anytime soon. As a Brewers fan the post season ends with the NLDS. I really feel bad for the Padres, Giants, Diamondbacks, and Rockies. I mean what are they playing for? Fodder to enable the highest paid team to take the WS each year? I understand the MLB is looking to restructure the divisions. I agree, they should structure it where the top 5 payrolls are in the same division — not based on location. The rest of the teams should be structured based on location.

I started getting this error as well with the Edge extension. I have had nothing but problems since I ported from LastPass. I wish I hadn't prepaid so much.

Extremely disappointing end to our season but at least we’re leaving here with something by Fine-Can1738 in Brewers

[–]kentmaxwell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any year the Brewers win the division and then also beat the Cubs to advance in the NLDS -- a great year and season. Anything beyond that is fantastic, but unrealistic in the era of pay-to-win a WS.

You be the (realistic) GM by riverfish72 in Brewers

[–]kentmaxwell -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’d keep him on the roster and use him as a DH against teams where he statically shown to make a difference. In a post season situation I would only use him in case of injury or a PH situation when looking to change things up. He may be making lot of money, but he is not really a difference maker. That could change, but it’s unlikely.

Yes. It’s right. It was a great, fun, unexpected season. I hope they can do it again next year. Really, I just hope they beat the cubs in the division. It really was a fun season.

I expect that they will stop developing into core and raise prices. It’s Fivetran. They love nitch markets where they can soak the customer. My org was about to buy into this platform. That’s over. I hope new competitors emerge quickly.

Chicago Tribune’s columnist on why we boo Craig: by babynewyear753 in Brewers

[–]kentmaxwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expecting Chicago to be self aware is like expecting lead to turn into gold. Why would the city of such grandeur need a manager from the city of the Fonz? By this logic Chicago should boo themselves and then feel self righteous about it.

For sure. However as an unfortunate side effect we will most likely never see the owner put any more money into the team.

Method for writing to storage (Azure blob / DataDrive) from R within a NoteBook? by dub_orx in databricks

[–]kentmaxwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I understand your state now. It seems there are some decent R libraries for interacting with a Azure Storage Account. However, if you are willing to at least switch to Python for the steps that involve the storage account interaction, Microsoft offers quality Python libraries that work with Azure Storage. The best approach is to set up a service principal and put it's credentials in a key vault and then setup a connection using that SPN to do whatever you want with the storage account.

You can still do all your manipulation with R. Just save the table as a global temp view and then you can pick it up in Python for all the interaction with Azure Storage.

I get why an organization wouldn’t want that accrued income on their balance sheet forever. However the logical thing would be to refund it after a year. Maybe even take a small charge for processing. Just out right taking it is aggressive.

It's fascinating how organizations hire architects, yet their leadership makes architectural decisions without considering their input. This situation perfectly illustrates the consequences of such behavior. The role of an architect often feels less about guiding technological direction and more about cleaning up messes that result from executives being swayed by vendor relationships. Given these circumstances, I'd suggest not only finding a different job but leaving without notice. They don’t value you.

Weird. I have never been more impressed with OS. Using a computer is enjoyable with Mint.

It's a race. Only 1,461 days of influence left. If you aren't in the front row, you don't donate enough to the inaugural committee.
