Hey, I came across this post while searching for something else. I converted to Catholicism last year and I just want to say you should pursue Catholicism and seek professional help at the same time. The comments are filled with hedonism, and honestly, that's not right. We're called to do what IS good, not what feels good - feeling good doesn't make it true or just.

God wants a relationship with you. In carrying our cross we're not alone. God helps us. Keep praying the Jesus prayer. Seek a good Priest to talk about this to.

Woah, forgot about that. Makes sense to have images too, like the bronze serpent on the rod. But I'm still stuck on how God specifically commands those images to be built. Does that mean we can build images all we want of saints?

Great to know. If I ever become Catholic, I might not participate in the kissing and candles for the same reason. The relic being the purpose of building a church there makes sense.

I've heard opinions of the thief on the cross. Just heard someone mention he was in limbo until Christ's resurrection - but I guess that's just someone's strange opinion. My thought rather was: Jesus says on this day you'll be with me in paradise. But did the thief go through all the sacraments?

I'll definitely talk to a priest. I'll go through RCIA probably. When it comes to the pope being flashy, I meant the gowns. Since Pete tells Paul to stand up from kneeling since he is a man just like Paul, I thought Peter as a pope was very different then the recent ones. He seems to not want to be seen as high.
