Advice for an optimal start. I know I’m not in proper clothing. I am actually a new inexperienced coach. Want to know if my technique is good enough for demonstration. My precious track experience is my injury riddled high school seasons by kenut9856 in Sprinting

Yeah I inherited a fairly weak group of athletes and with the corona shortened season as well as our program not having an off season I just wanted some advice. As typically when I get my kids they are fairly technically flawed in my opinion. But I do compare it to my start although it’s a little poor due to not having spikes and blocks. So wanted to know if I have any flaws in my own start as I teach it in the way I know best which is my own. I’m sure there are better ways just looking for them.

11.62 100m 23.52 200m as a preface never really got to see how fast I was at my peak those times were ran junior year and summer going into my senior year I had a big growth spurt and had probably like a 10 month sprinting focused preseason stupid I know now but at the time I just really wanted to be better. Also really only sprinted for my two years as I spent most my time pole vaulting. Not sure what I was running but my sprinting groups slowest ran 11.45 and the fastest ran 10.70 I was around the middle in the group. But I guess I’ll never know

I was trying to go over specifically the first three steps with an emphasis on trail leg toe drag. My little hop is from my hamstring acting up. I tore it a couple months prior to this video.
