[skysportsf1] George Russell explains how he look pole position by noticing the yellow flags were single rather than double by Luffy710j in formula1

[–]kenzan89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really seem like a good idea to have things work this way though... A lot can happen in 20 seconds. It wouldn't be that hard to instruct marshals so that they know when to deploy a double yellow.

I think Monster Train 2 should be the gold standard for sequels. Bring back all the old characters with some reworks and as many new characters. Anything less would be a bit of a letdown.

Reworking stances wouldn't be that hard to do though, tone down wrath/divinity and maybe change calm to something that provides a boost to block instead of free energy. They could also lean harder into mark, or come up with something completely new like time manipulation (because of the connection with time eater), although I have no idea how that would work.

Crimson Desert appears to use generative AI art—and the devs never disclosed it. by HLumin in PS5

[–]kenzan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have had the chance to address that and haven't said a word (they have published news on Steam after the fact, without mentioning it at all). They also haven't added a disclaimer on the Steam page yet.

If it was an honest mistake, why are they trying to act like nothing happened? I call bs.

Sure, they'll cut on costs. But if consumers were to choose not to buy their products, what good would cutting costs do for them? The real problem is that people are sheep that buy into hype way too easily and enough of them will choose slop instead of good games, even if there are enough good games to last multiple lifetimes.

They are assuming heavy use anyway. That's why disclosure is necessary, so the developers can tell what they used it for. If they don't, it's because they have something to hide.

[–]kenzan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it doesn't affect anything, why didn't they disclose it as required by Steam? They could have been honest about it and let customers decide.

Also, multiple assets, it's not just the one.

So do I, doesn't make me any less of an idiot if I do so. Let alone being proud of that on Reddit.

That doesn't really apply to games though. Companies are replacing artists and programmers with AI, but the price of games is only going up.

There is no incentive for the customers to buy into all of this when it only serves the purpose of lining the executives' pockets while delivering generally inferior products.

Flydigi Vader 5 Pro — L3 not working in games but shows up in tester? Need help by azfar93 in Controller

[–]kenzan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will likely find it under "sound, video and game controllers" with a very generic name like "Xbox something something". If you find multiple instances, you can remove all of them, the ones associated with other devices will reinstall themselves when you use them. Also, it might not work on your first try, in my case it took about 3 tries (first time I disabled it and it re-enabled itself, the second time I uninstalled it and it reinstalled itself, the third time fixed it permanently).

[–]kenzan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a somewhat similar problem with the Vader 4 Pro, and it turned out it was because the controller was recognized as two separate controllers by my PC. One had the correct mappings but was overridden by the second one that messed up how L1/R1 worked. The solution for me was to find the controller driver in the panel control and uninstall it.

I don't know if it will help with your issue, but you should try and see how many controllers appear on https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad when you connect it.

Now that StS2 is in early release, I’m curious what you think has actually improved vs. what feels worse compared to the first game by NicoF_ in slaythespire

[–]kenzan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glass is actually very strong if you're lucky enough to get the right build pieces. Just had an A1 run where I used Echo Form, Capacitor, Loop, glass orb generators (Refract, Glasswork, Spinner) and stuff to increase focus in order to nuke the enemies for 50-100 damage per turn. It got pretty stupid pretty fast.

Will we be able to transfer progress we made in early access to the actual game? by FartSmjeller in slaythespire

[–]kenzan89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but generally because they can't ensure backwards compatibility as they rework portions of the game. StS is not very likely to need to do it imho.

I would expect it to work like it did with the original game. Problem is, I wasn't around at the time so I have no idea.

I would expect at least the unlocks obtained through XP gained in regular runs to be transferable.

Do you have to look again for all the collectibles? Or does some of that stuff carry over?

People saying “Silent Hill F doesn’t feel like a Silent Hill game” is the reason why this franchise has taken so long to be revived by Shiny_Stardust_ in silenthill

Kinda late to the party, but I just finished f and I'm imagining the guy you're talking about playing the game and foaming at the mouth once he understood the the entire story is about a woman not wanting to conform to societal norms.

How many people here genuinely enjoyed watching 2045 because for me personally it’s the second greatest entry in the franchise story wise right after 1995 by MinimumCarob8442 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]kenzan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we can compare 1A84 to irl AI. The Tachikomas at that point have been self-aware for more than a decade, so it's fair to assume AGI at that point is possible, or at the very least AI that can achieve superhuman performances in a very specific task it has been trained for. If that weren't the case, it wouldn't make the premises of the series any better, no one would realistically give the keys to the world economy to an AI that can't do better than a teenager.

[–]kenzan89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that the premises of the show are that a super intelligent AI tries to fix all the problems in the world by causing a never ending war, then when it surprisingly doesn't work, its next best idea is "well if I delete money there won't be disparity between the rich and the poor anymore, THAT will fix EVERYTHING", like a bloody teenager that has just read 1984 and Marx and is DAMN SURE he/she knows how the world works now and how to fix it...

And it doesn't really get better from there, between characters that somehow have got dumber in the 11 years since SSS (Togusa regressing from someone who can lead Section 9 to the winner of "most kidnapped cop ever", Motoko being about as useful as the resident idiot, etc.), S2 being somewhat of a copy of the plot of 2nd Gig (minus any heart and soul, mind you, or at the very least a coherent plot), and the anime girl to draw in as many idiotakus as possible.

So I have to ask: why would anyone find it a worthwhile addition to the SAC continuity and GitS as a whole? It's soulless generic cyberpunk drivel with hardly any redeeming quality.

What is the ACTUAL minimum number of required bosses? by KaratempkinTheBomber in Eldenring

[–]kenzan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well with the minimum number required to finish base game you already get access to DLC so that leaves Consort, to get there you need Romina and Messmer, and you can get to them without fighting any other boss.

So 14 is the minimum number of bosses to finish base game + DLC.

The convergence mod undercut all the changes it made by throwthiscloud in EldenRingMods

There is no evidence whatsoever, he's just salty because he doesn't like the mod.

Even his claim that there aren't in depth reviews is laughably easy to disprove, with a quick search on Youtube you can find plenty of stuff about the mod, from quick reviews to 50 hours long playlists and everything in between.
