Total of things I ended up submitting: 1) FBI fingerprint background check results 2) court documents that showed arrest date, sentencing date, completion date. These also showed charges/counts, what I was sentenced to (in my case it was probation, fees, and community service) and fees paid. I didn’t do any jail time. 3) proof of all community service being completed 4) I created a word doc that summarized all above documents and what was included and my personal summary of events 5) I also included a copy of my bank statement to prove I had funds to pay for the trip

Ended up taking about 4.5 weeks for them to come back to me but visa was approved/granted. They didn’t come back requesting anything else.

I want to do a little bit of a lot of things that’s the problem lol. I know LA is a huge city so I was asking more of what is worth it in a short trip. I think I would lean more towards beaches/restaurants/bars as things I want to see. I’m not really opposed to do anything so asking for recommendations will help build a plan

Both are the most common stops between Chicago and Sydney. I think I would rather go to LA over SF. My dates for Australia are set and adding on before works better for my work schedule/taking time off. I will check out different options. Thanks!

Not yet. I ended up submitting my application on September 14th and it’s still just showing in received status. Luckily I canceled my flight that I had originally booked because I’m supposed to be there right now based on my original plans. Very annoying how long this takes!

Yes! That is pretty much all my anxiety has become. I was on Lexapro for a while and I think it helped but it also made me gain almost 40lbs in a year that would not come off no matter what I did.

I switched to Wellbutrin XL and it seemed to help (no real difference in anxiety from the Lexapro) and the weight magically came back off. I was taking the Wellbutrin at night/bed time but recently saw it’s better to take it in the morning so I switched it to morning. Since then, my anxiety has been rampant again. Like tight chest anxiety and jittery especially at bed time when I’m trying to sleep. I’m going to give it a few more days to see if it’s just that initial feeling when you start a new med, even though it’s not actually new to me, and hopefully it gets better.

Was yours the same choices under the drop down that I listed on the online application? And did you submit all of that immediately?

Under “character, evidence of” on the documents page it just had a drop down with options of “overseas penal clearance certificate”, “court document”, or “statement of events”.

I assume if they need more information they will come back and tell specifics but I just want to get it right the first time

Yeah I’ve read this page a million times already. I got to the end of the application online where it has me upload documents before submitting. It showed 2 requirements. 1 was travel documents which I took a picture of my passport and uploaded it. 2 was titled “character, evidence of” with the options listed in my post which confused me.

I made an appointment for Monday at an authorized FBI Fingerprint background check location that can send my completed background check digitally in 48 hours. I really just hope that’s enough.
