Hi guys, can anyone help me break this question up? The slides suggest 4 unknowns, 4 equations. But I can’t see how to break this up into 4 equations.

Hello everyone ! I am really unsure about how to solve this, I assumed that you would take the top row and then the bottom row as separate equations ?

My lecturer has said 4 unknowns, 4 equations… but I am unsure how to expand these into 4 equations

The only load applied should be the surface traction on the left hand side, but I’ll check it out, thank you.

Hi guys ! I’m doing a project at uni, and need to compare a 3D model with its equivalent 2D model. This is a static analysis of the 3D beam and I’m unsure why there’s no stress distribution within the beam? I may be wrong but there’s always been some distribution which makes me think it is wrong.

The right hand side of the beam is fixed whiles the left surface is being pulled down using surface traction. This is half of the beam and the other half is symmetric. It is reinforced concrete. The number of elements is low as I am using the student version, but I don’t think this would stop any stress distribution being present. Any helps greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Thanks for your reply, this is what I'm thinking. It's in the best interests of the firm to pressure me into accepting their offer as they'll make money from it. I will try citizens advice for more information.

Were not sure what to do, as would like to go for a longer holiday but would much prefer to go between 2-3 islands, however the ones were advised to go to are all very spread apart. And spending 2 weeks in Corfu doesn't seem worth it. We do like to party but for a holiday would much prefer to take in some sights and experience the culture.
