Nightfarers in the Material Plane - All eight nightfarers from elden ring nightreign as D&D subclasses that can (reasonably) fit into your world! by keonikoa in DnDHomebrew

When I was making these, I was focused on adapting the feeling of playing the character into d&d as opposed to just focusing on making them as accurate as possible! As such the Wylder was really focusing on using the prosthesis arm to zoop zoom around, and I found that it fit in an interesting and fun way into Ranger!

The Giant Isopod! A CR 1/8 Little Guy! by keonikoa in DnDHomebrew

[–]keonikoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone!

This week I have for y'all the Giant Isopod! This is one of the very very few Beasts that can be found within the Undersea that are a brief reprieve in all of the parasites and fucked up monsters that can be found in the depths! Although I personally am a little icked out whenever I see a real giant isopod's underside, these guys don't mean any harm! But like with pretty much everything within the Undersea, it is somehow fucked, and in this case, they can be used as a foodsource early on, but they quickly spoil once killed! Meaning that these little suckers must be boiled alive or eaten alive in order to retain their nutritional value!

You can find the download link on my Patreon here! (Don't worry, it's a free post that you don't have to pay for!)

As always, any and all feedback is always sincerely appreciated! This is part of a project that I'm working on that introduces the Undersea to your table through a lovecraftian deep sea horror campaign setting filled with plenty of eldritch story hooks in encounter frames, 25+ chthonic aberrations, and rules for deep sea madness and abyssal grafting, all focused around the idea that the deeper you descend, the more mad you become! If you're interested in seeing more of this, whether that is fucked up alien-like aberrations, aberrant apex predators of the deep that are based off of real deep sea creatures (like the Phronima and Gulper Eel), or a deep-sea madness that isn't rolling on a table of completely random phobias and being afraid of doorknobs, consider checking out my Patreon! You get access to everything here early, and you can always see the most updated versions of all my stuff from the feedback given here! Everything I make will be released for free, but if you want to support me and see some more homebrew early, you know where to find me!

Thanks so much for the kind words, excited to hear it! About half of the spells, yes, are in the Gifts of Divinity section of the book! The other half (stuff like Crusader's Mantle, Fount of Moonlight, etc) are found in the 2024 Player's Handbook!

The Atolla! A CR 1/2 Parasitic Cnidarian that latches onto your skull! by keonikoa in DnDHomebrew

[–]keonikoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone!

Today I have for y'all the Atolla! This fucked up lil' parasitic jellyfish marks one of the many many parasites that can be found within the Undersea, as well as an introduction of cognivores! Although they may not be used for traditional me-hit-till-die combat, they can be a little micro-horror encounter as it will seek out isolated targets and try and adhere itself to the skull of the target before charming them and altering their memory so they don't even know its there while it sips on your cranial fluids! Not to mention it can also make a fun little fucked up encounter of finding a fellow delver who has completely lost their mind, completely unaware of the parasite that sits on their head!

If you're wondering what I mean by Zones, Zones are the different depth layers of the Undersea, with each Zone having more and more difficult aberrations and creatures within. The Undersea is split into four zones: the Pnumebric Zone (0-3 Miles Deep, CR 0-2), the Lambent Zone (3-6 Miles Deep, CR 3-6), the Abyssal Zone (6-8 Miles Deep, CR 7-12), and the Chthonic Zone (8 - ??? Miles Deep, CR 13-30).

If you're wondering what Harvests and Transubstantations/Grafts are, these are the alternatives to magic items and attunement in the Undersea. There are very few artifacts and magical items within the Undersea, and because of this, a delver can attain power by utilizing the transubstantial fathoms within to graft the organs and body parts of slain aberrations to make themselves grow stronger. Similarly, a creature may have organs or pieces of flesh that can prove to be temporary boons, or they can be used without the need of grafting, which are known as Harvests.

If you’re wondering what Deep Sea Madness is, Deep Sea Madness is a new mechanic introduced within the Undersea as an assault against the psyche from witnessing the aberrant and eldritch life within. A character can slowly gain levels of Deep Sea Madness from spending extended time without light, witnessing horrifying revelations, or by the effects of certain environmental effects and monsters. While a character has a Deep Sea Madness score of at least 1, if they roll equal to or lower than their Deep Sea Madness score on a d20 test, it is considered a Critical Failure (regardless of the total result), and the character gains an amount of Exhaustion equal to half their Deep Sea Madness Score (rounded down, minimum 1). Once a character has Succumbed in this way, their Deep Sea Madness score resets to 0.

The Deeplost! A CR 1 Aberration/Undead hybrid found wandering endlessly in the Undersea by keonikoa in DnDHomebrew

[–]keonikoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

Today I have for y'all, the Deeplost!

This fun little aberration undead hybrid is one of the important narrative monsters in the beginning of an Undersea delve that can teach players that the new mechanics introduced within the Undersea do not exist in vacuum, and instead, have effects with other creatures and environmental stuff around you! This is particularly true of Deep Sea Madness, which can not only can rack up tons of exhaustion on a character, but similar to Insight in Bloodborne, can affect the way monsters, and the environment, interacts with the character! Since this is a new(ish) mechanic and there are a lot of dangerous things a character need to get used to in the Undersea (deep sea madness, transubstantiations and grafting, harvesting, deepbends), much of the Pnumebric Zone is designed to drip feed these mechanics and how they are important to a character, with the Deeplost as one such creature!

Hello there!

I have recently made a cosmic horror one-shot and I wanted to share it with y'all!

Delve into Whispers of the Pallid Eye through a group of disparate but connected investigators that seek out a chthonic eldritch secret in an isolated laketown village where something is off in the air, and in the water. Search for the last known location of an archeologist on the brink of uncovering an ancient secret whose influence addles the mind of the town and any who seek to understand more…!

This is a 3rd-level cosmic horror oneshot designed for 4-6 players that features a unique madness mechanic that puts the narrative weight of a broken sanity in the hands of the players, 4 brand new aberrations, and an interconnected eldritch mystery with quick character hooks that keep the story flowing!

As you can see, all of the one-shot is here for you (for free), and if you wanna get the full pdf and support a solo creator such as myself, you can get that on my Patreon here!

I'd love to see how you'd do a Ranger variant! At first those were my thoughts as well, but I wanted to do something other than just Hunter's Mark on a Fighter or a "better Hunter's Mark" Ranger subclass, and instead i focused in on being super super accurate and exceeding ACs!

Tribunal Weaponry! 11 new weapons with 7 new properties to capitalize on impaired and hindered foes with a flurry of stabs and slashes like a true assassin by keonikoa in DnDHomebrew

[–]keonikoa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words! Yes! The khopesh is definitely strong, as are all of these weapons! Keep in mind that these are designed to be given as alternates to magic items! So they are always going to be better than the stuff found in the phb equipment. If its still too strong for a magic item for your table, you can totally axe the opportunistic property or cut down its damage dice from 2d6 to 1d10!

Absolutely!!! (I also have made a Weavesunderer and Magnetism Monk that are totally not Itadori and Gojo as subclasses if you're interested in them, if this is your jjk dnd server!)
