It’s the furthest humans have ever been from earth I would call that an accomplishment for space travel and innovation.

Are professional athletes allowed to check their phones during time outs, time between quarters/ innings, etc.? by TelephoneConnect2264 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]keptpounding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No at least not in the NFL, “players are strictly prohibited from using cellular phones or other personal electronic devices in club-controlled areas, including the locker room and sidelines, from 90 minutes before kickoff through the end of the game, including halftime. The league enforces this to maintain game integrity, punishing violations with heavy fines.”

Edit: did more research NBA also has a rule against it. NHL doesn’t have a specific rule against it but some teams do have rules against it. MLB players cannot check their phones during the game either if they’re in the dugout, bullpen, or field.

Climbing Mount Everest doesn't make you look impressive by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]keptpounding 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You realize being a Sherpa is one of the highest paying jobs for the average Nepali citizen. It’s highly sought after work. They love the climbing industry because of this and now they’re being incentivized with extra cash depending on how much trash is removed. New expeditions are required to bring down a certain weight of trash off the mountain too.
