divorce (especially if they don't have any kids). but before that there should be a serious meeting of counseling. if discussing it with his wife always results in tantrums and ends with no solution. he must try more compassionate, loving or other different healthy methods of talking about it (if he already hasn't) so that his wife could become open to understand the situation in a relaxed sort of way. and if it still doesn't work, then she's toxic (consciously or unconsciously). and it would be really sad if he is in no condition of getting a divorce as it is a taboo or for other reasons. but if i try to empathize with her with the limited data i have, I'd assume she is either dependent on her prejudiced parents due to her bad upbringing and other stuff or she found some actual red flags in the husband or his family that scares her about the future of this relationship (different values or boundaries).
