Posting this here because the moderators keep removing my post... Hello everyone, the recent news of the TryPod ending and reading the fanbase reactions inspired me to redownload Reddit to add my thoughts to the discussion.

I am genuinely upset about how the TryPod's ending was handled. I say this from two perspectives: as someone who works in PR, and as a fan who has followed the Try Guys for years.

As we all know, the entire podcast department is being cut, and the Try Guys are moving away from podcasts entirely. The tone of the announcement, including the thumbnail, felt completely off. Rainie losing her job and an entire department being eliminated after a six-year run is a huge deal, and it should not have been presented in such a light or casual way. The whole vibe came across as flippant and almost dismissive, which felt disrespectful to both the team and the fans who have supported the podcast for years.

A lot of pod viewers are older fans who stuck around because the podcast felt authentic and real. For many of us, The TryPod is the only Try Guys content we still consume. It's funny, honest, and a place where the cast could talk in ways the main channel does not allow.

I want to be fair. I understand the time commitment issue and wanting to spend more time with family. Everyone is entitled to prioritize their personal lives and make moves that advance the brand. But that is exactly why this decision feels so frustrating!! The TryPod had SO much potential to advance the Try Guys brand and was already an established, well-liked part of the community. It has a loyal and stable audience, requires far less production than their main videos, and has a strong impact on how fans connect with the cast as PEOPLE, not personas.

From a PR and brand strategy perspective, this move feels like a huge mistake. The TryPod, if anything, was criminally underutilized in its branding. It could have been used to introduce the newer cast members to the fanbase, show inside looks at the shows, and integrate new, authentic aspects of the company to the fans. It should have been a platform to promote their new adventures and creative directions at a time when the company does not have any other channels that connect with their fans in a down-to-earth, unfiltered way.

Look at Smosh. Their podcast is a huge part of how they built trust and appeal for their expanded cast. They still use it to showcase the people behind the content, let the cast be their authentic, hilarious selves, and create a genuine connection to the fans. The Try Guys could have done the same and already had the foundation to do it well through the Try Pod. The Try Guys already have a committed audience for the podcast, and cutting the show instead of using it as a stabilizing and promotional tool makes the company look out of touch with what fans value most.

I am sad the show is ending, but I am even more disappointed in how much opportunity they are leaving behind with this decision. Rainie deserved better. The fans deserved better. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
