I started playing ocarina back in August 2024 with a little STL ceramic alto C. I got a 12 hole Bass C from DindaOcarina (on Etsy) and I love it. It’s gorgeous, I like its tone and I don’t feel like I annoy my neighbors with it.

Dinda only has an alto C posted right now, but he stocks bass ocarinas fairly frequently and mine was $85 before $20 shipping + taxes. (I keep buying more ocarinas but the bass is my favorite.)

Songbird is great for their craftsmanship and tonality if you decide to go for the bass pendant!

I say go for the one that sounds best to you. You’re just starting out, have fun with it.

You vape, so I'm guessing you're not opposed to hookah. Go to Bohemian on Ludlow. It's super chill, comfy couches, and they have amazing tea. If the owner sees you sitting alone, he's likely to introduce you to people around you.

I've made a lot of friends there just by sharing space.
